Irreverent British comic Tommy Maitland (who most of us by now realize is comic actor Mike Myers under heavy prosthetic makeup) returns as this reboot of the vintage Chuck Barris “talent” show opens its second season. Guest panelists Will Arnett (Arrested Development), actress Rita Wilson and former Saturday Night Live regular Fred Armisen evaluate such performances as a magic act, a hula-hooping virtuoso and waterless swimmers.
8 p.m. on _ Match Game
Maybe it rarely reaches the silly, giddy heights of the original vintage edition of this game show, when Gene Rayburn played host to such memorably zany panelists as Charles Nelson Reilly, Joanne Worley and Fannie Flagg, but this reboot hosted by Alec Baldwin opens its fourth season tonight. Panelists include Kenan Thompson (Saturday Night Live), Niecy Nash (Claws), Thomas Lennon (Lethal Weapon), comic Caroline Rhea, Constance Zimmer (UnREAL) and Mark Duplass (The Mindy Project).
9 p.m. on COMEDY Detroiters
Sam Richardson (Veep) and Tim Robinson (Saturday Night Live) return as second-rate ad men and best buddies Sam Duvet and Tim Cramblin as this amiable sitcom, which is filmed on location in Detroit, opens Season 2. In the premiere, “April in the D,” their firm finally hits a hot streak, and Sam and Tim help their receptionist, Sheila (Pat Vern Harris), get a lawyer after she receives a DUI. Another new episode follows.
9 p.m. on TNT AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to George Clooney
Julia Roberts presents American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award to close friend and frequent professional collaborator George Clooney during this 90-minute special, which was filmed June 7 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Calif. Clooney, who has won two Academy Awards, also has the distinction of being one of only two people (along with Walt Disney) who has received Oscar nominations in six different categories.
9 p.m. on History Channel Alone
Severe hunger pains force the participants to explore new, unfamiliar and potentially hazardous food options and sources in the new episode “The Haunting.” As this season’s assortment of survivalists begin to settle into the new, very remote surroundings, they collectively have the chilling realization that they’re not the only predators on the prowl.
