Dorse Gatewood of Forrest City, Arkansas. Mary devote 25 years to mentally and physically challenged individuals at Alexander
Human Development Center.
Mae departed this life on June 11, 2018. Mae was preceded in death by her father, John Gatewood, mother, Betty Gatewood; brothers, Clevelon Gatewood, Robert Gatewood, Andrew Gatewood and John Gatewood Jr; sisters, Ever Easter Gatewood, Luella Mae Franklin, Earnestine Lewis, and Lillie B. Watson. Mary Ethel Butler “Mae” leaves to cherish her long memories to her husband of 42 years, Archie Butler Sr.; her children, Eddie Walker (Chantee) of Indianapolis, Ind., Felicia Nichols (LaQuentin) of Little Rock, Ark., Charlotte Rice ( Antonio Sr.) of Mabelvale, Ark., Archie Butler II of Alexander, Ark.; her sisters, Dora Jean Summage, Nettie Mae Jordan, Pearlie Barley (Jimmy), Louise Crawford, Linda Walker (Eugene); brothers, Earnest White, Edward Gatewood (Gloria), Thomas Gatewood (Darlene); grandchildren, Travis, Eddieion, Alexis, Quinton, Antonio Jr., Braylon, Tyianna, Emaya, Joshua, Emmanuel, LaTorria, Arvin, Donovan, Asia; great-grandchildren, Travis Jr., Libby, Bryson; six extended grand-children, sisters and brothers-in-law, Cleopatra, Pauline (Terry), Frank (May Joyce), Al Thurman, Hubert (Lovie), Herman (Charlene), and Larry (Sharon J.); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service for Mary Ethel “Mae” Butler will be held on Saturday (6/23) at (12 noon) at Second Baptist Church-Southwest (6111 W. 83rd Street) in Little Rock with Pastor Percy Gilbert. Burial in Pinecrest Memorial Park and Garden in Alexander. Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the church. Jr. He attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and Little Rock University, where he received his business degree. He was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville; his entire career was spent working with family in farming and real estate development and construction.
Tommy was a world traveler who loved people, music, history, and the City of Jacksonville. He was tireless in his support of the community through his involvement with youth athletics, Sertoma Club, the Jacksonville Museum of Military History and the development of the Reed’s Bridge Battlefield Heritage Park. His efforts were always in pursuit of making his hometown strong while staying connected to its roots.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father, P.W. Jr., his mother, Lorene, his brothers, Pete and Richard, and his granddaughter, Victoria. He is survived by three children Shannon Dupree, Misty Heather Dupree, and Bill Dupree; seven grandchildren Emily Faulkner, Lillian McEntire, Philip, Elliot, and Mina LaBeau, Alexandria and Thomas Dupree. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Jo DiGuiro and Judy Beale, his sister-in-law, Arleta Dupree, and his brother, Larry Dupree.
Visitation at 10 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church, 308 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Ark. Little Rock, Ark.
Jackie departed from her earthly home to her heavenly home Monday, June 18,
2018, with her loving family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert & Claudia Ellis Sr.; her brother, Robert Ellis Jr.; and her nephew, Kreth Ellis.
Jackie attended North Little Rock Public Schools and was a graduate of Northeast High School, class of 1973. She furthered her education at Pasadena City College and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She was a graduate of Philander Smith College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Jackie fell in love and married Dwight Johnson, January 22, 1983. To this union a set of twin boys were born – Brian and Brandon Johnson.
Jackie accepted Christ at an early age and united her membership with Bethel A.M.E Church, North Little Rock, Ark. After moving to California, she became an affiliate member with the First A.M.E Church in Pasadena, Calif., and later an affiliate member at St. Paul A.M.E Church in Berkeley, Calif. Upon coming back home to North Little Rock, Jackie returned to Bethel A.M.E.Church in North Little Rock. She was an active saint for Christ. She was appointed to the Steward Board; she was a member of the Women’s Missionary Society, HC Guy Lay Organization, an usher, and a weekly church office volunteer. Jackie was employed at L’Oreal Maybelline for 20 years. She retired from Safeway of Richmond, Calif. in 2014.
Jackie leaves to cherish in memory, two sons; Brian Johnson and Brandon (Ayana) Johnson; four siblings, Herman (Kimberly) Ellis, Joan Ellis, Darwin (Angela) Ellis, and Derwin Ellis; an aunt, Julia Ellis; and six grandchildren, Khloe, Bria, Khylie, Harper, Hayden, and Aubrey Johnson.

2018. Elizabeth was born December 24, 1930, to Lee H. Hulett and May LeCroix Hulett. She worked for Little
Rock School District for many years. She was a member of First
Baptist Church in Sherwood.
She is survived by her sons,
Gerald (Sheila) Brockman, Steve
(Nell) Mantooth,
David (Mary) Mantooth, Gary (Tamara) Mantooth and Earle (Rona) Mantooth. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren who she loved very much.
Mom was always a giving person and wanting to help others when in need, during sickness or a death in their family.
We want to thank the staff at Premier Health and Rehabilitation for their care for Mom during her stay, especially Valerie “Nell”, Danina and Micki. We also want to thank the staff in CCU at Baptist in North Little Rock, Leighton, Simone, Maghone, Dr. Jonathan Watson and Dr. Vasuki Dando.

Jones Hospice
House two years after being diagnosed with a glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor.
The memorial service will be held at Lakewood United Methodist Church in North Little Rock on Saturday, June 23 at 1 p.m., visitation will follow.
Don was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. He graduated from Russellville High School and went on to receive a BS in Mathematics from Arkansas Tech, an MA in Mathematics from Indiana University, and a Masters in Industrial Engineering from University of Arkansas. He later became a CPA.
He was married to Kay Morgan Peters on May 25, 1974, and they recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary.
Don began his professional career working for Arkansas Power and Light Company in the Forecast and Planning Department. He spent over 40 years working from this position to become an expert in the utility regulation field for Entergy Corporation. Don became a true expert in utility regulation representing Entergy Companies in Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, Louisiana, and in Federal matters, Washington D.C. He spent countless hours writing testimony and testifying in complicated regulatory cases. Additionally, he was an adjunct professor of mathematics at UALR.
He was heavily involved in Rotary at the local, national, and international levels as an advocate for the youth exchange program. He was proud to have positively impacted the lives of hundreds of students throughout his tenure. He was known for his exuberant speaking style and inspired many. He was a charter member of the
Sherwood Rotary club. Don was a past Sherwood Club President, South Central Rotary Youth Exchange President, North American Youth Exchange Network President, and Rotary International Youth Exchange Chairman.
As a devout Methodist, he served as District Lay Leader for his United Methodist District Conference. He had previously served as the Youth Director and organist of Bethel United Methodist Church of Jacksonville, and Puppet Master of First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock. He was a current member of Lakewood United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife Kay Peters of Jacksonville, daughter Dr. Emma Jacobs and son in law Jonathan Jacobs of Jonesboro, daughter, Rebecca Howell and son-in-law, Billy Howell of Jacksonville, father, Rev. Muriel Peters of Jacksonville, and brother, Dale Peters and sister-in-law, Ann Peters of Jacksonville. He was a devoted and indulgent grandfather to Corbin Howell, David Jacobs, and Hazel Jacobs.
