ADA MAE UMFLEET, 86, of Little Rock, aka “Honey” by family and close friends, passed peacefully in her sleep June 24, 2018. She was born May 13, 1932, in Yount, Missouri, to John and Corinne Clifton.

“Honey” has been the heart and encourager of our home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her strength and unselfish love was immeasurable and will always be with us. She opened her home often to guests of the family or church and treated them as her own. Shortly after moving to Little Rock in 1962, Ada began her career at Blass Department Store, and was with them through the transitions that led to Dillard’s. She was often described as a model employee and trained many employees for the company. She worked there for more than 30 years but would not say how many! While in Little Rock, Ada was a member of Southwest Christian Church and assisted her husband in starting it. She has also been a member of Baseline Christian Church. Her quiet, but active faith touched lives in ways nobody knew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Umfleet; parents, John and Corinne Clifton, and brother, Palmer Clifton. She is survived by her sister, Lee Ann Modde and husband, Bob of Perryville, Mo.; daughters, Twyla Burnette and Renae Umfleet of Little Rock, Ark.; grandsons, David Brad Burnette and wife, Laure, of Little Rock, Ark.; Daniel Bryce Burnette of Neuquen, Argentina; and John Barton Burnette of Nashville, Tenn.; granddaughter, Mary Poppelreiter Light and husband, Brian of Maumelle, Ark.; and great-granddaughters, Ava Danielle Burnette of Dallas, Texas, and Bradliegh Ann Burnette of Little Rock; and also nieces and nephews out of state.

A visitation will be held Monday, July 2nd at 11 a.m. at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, with funeral service starting at 12 noon. Pastor Mike Clowers will officiate, followed by interment at Pinecrest Cemetery. Online guest book: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/chenal.
