Man faces charges after woman tied up

-

A man was arrested after he tied up the mother of his child inside a Little Rock home during an argument, police said.

Christopher Williams, 29, of Little Rock was arrested on charges of kidnapping, terroristic threatening, third-degree domestic battery and endangering the welfare of a minor, records show.

Officers responded around 11 a.m. Monday to a home in the 1000 block of Booker Street, according to a report from the city’s Police Department.

A 26-year-old woman told police that Williams, the father of her 4-year-old son, came to pick her up Sunday night and drove her to a residence in the 3400 block of West 10th Street.

There, Williams became angry during an argument with her and punched her in the face before throwing her to the ground and tying her wrists with zip-ties, the report states.

Williams then tied the woman — who was also secured with duct tape on her arms and mouth — to the sofa bed in the living room and left her, according to authorities.

The 26-year-old said she was able to escape Monday morning by biting her way out of the zip-ties and tape, which left her with bruising to her left cheek near her nose and both wrists.

When officers arrived at Williams’ home, a 14-year-old girl who answered the door said several times that only she and the 4-year-old boy were at home, authorities noted.

Police later heard furniture being moved and objects being placed in front of the door, at which point additional resources, including the department’s SWAT team, were called.

Inside, authorities eventually found Williams hiding under the couch cushions of a sofa bed, according to the report. The 4-year-old child was found in a bedroom.

While being taken to a patrol vehicle, Williams reportedly began pulling away from police, prompting an officer to grab him by the shoulder and upper chest and “take him to the ground.”

Authorities said Williams later held on to the undercarriage of the patrol car and laid down before being secured in the vehicle. He also attempted to “wrap the seatbelt around his neck,” the report states.

According to police, Williams began banging his head on the table during an interview and was taken to a hospital. The Little Rock resident’s name did not appear in online records for the Pulaski County jail as of Tuesday morning.
