Brian Mitchell, a history professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, will explore how the combination of politics, economics and a system of Jim Crow laws gave rise to the 1919 Elaine Massacre for the third talk in the Delta Cultural Center’s “Elaine Colloquium Series,” 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Temple Beth-El Heritage Hall, 406 Perry St., Helena-West Helena.
