Dorothy Martin is the eponym, singer/songwriter and frontwoman of Los Angeles rock band Dorothy, headlining an 18-and-older show (with opening act Charming Liars), 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sticky Fingerz Rock ’n’ Roll Chicken Shack, 107 River Market Ave., Little Rock. ETC. Creative workshop
The Art Group Gallery, Pleasant Ridge Shopping Center, 11525 Cantrell Road, Little Rock, is sponsoring a three-day workshop, 9 a.m.4 p.m. Oct. 9-11, titled “Mixed Media: Expand Your Creative Options!,” with demonstrations, group critiques, experimenting with new materials, discussion of contemporary mixed media artists and “lots of art making.” It’s geared toward intermediate and advanced artists but no mixed-media experience is necessary. Participating artists will use stencils, stamps, collage, image transfer, texture, text, drawing materials and various methods of applying paint. Cost is $350 per person. More park movies
The Movies in the Park series has scheduled a makeup date — Aug. 1 — for a rainedout screening of the 2003 film School of Rock and an add-on screening of the 2017 movie Breaking Legs, as a back-toschool special, in First Security Amphitheater, Riverfront Park, 400 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock. Screenings start at sunset (approximately 8:30 p.m.); the amphitheater will open an hour earlier. Families, picnics and leashed pets are welcome; glass containers are not. Admission is free; food trucks will sell food and drink. An adult must accompany all children under 18 and an ID is required.
