- GAVIN LESNICK

Pine Bluff police opened its third investigation this week into a killing.

Officers found a 47-yearold man fatally shot outside an apartment in Pine Bluff early Thursday, police said.

The killing is the 11th of the year in Pine Bluff, and the third this week after two people died in separate shootings late Sunday and early Monday.

Authorities said investigations are continuing but that right now none of the killings seem related. No one has been arrested in any of the recent killings.

In the most recent fatal shooting, officers responding to a report of a shooting found Theodis Morris “obviously deceased” outside a unit at 1320 S. Maple St., shortly after 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators said it appears Morris was shot multiple times in a nearby parking lot before collapsing in the area where his body was found.

No suspects have been named, and no motive is known, police said.

On Monday, Travis Scales, 32, of Pine Bluff was pronounced dead in a home after officers responded about 12:45 a.m. to a shooting in the 5100 block of West 6th Avenue.

About two hours earlier, on Sunday night, officers went to the intersection of Camden Road and Union Avenue, where they found 27-year-old Antonio Urquhart suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle that had hit a pole. A police spokesman said it wasn’t clear whether Urquhart lived in Little Rock or Pine Bluff.
