‘Art of Fashion’

Artist, project designer and “style ambassador” Dallas Shaw will discuss her career and her recent book, The Way She Wears It: The Ultimate Insider’s Guide to Revealing Your

Fiddle Weekend

The Ozark Folk Center State Park, 1302 Park Ave., Mountain View, hosts its annual Old-Time Fiddle Weekend, today-Saturday, including an all-day fiddle “master class” today, 7 p.m. music shows all three days and Saturday’s Arkansas State Fiddle Championsh­ip. The lineup includes Apple & Setser today, the Ozark Highballer­s on Friday and Jeremy Myers on Saturday. All performanc­es will be recorded for the fifth season of the syndicated public radio show Ozark Highlands Radio.

2nd Friday Art Night

A reception, 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Historic Arkansas Museum, 200 E. Third St., Little Rock, introduces the exhibit “Space Between Teeth: Linda Lopez + Marc Mitchell.” MarQuis & Mood will perform and there will be beer from The Water Buffalo in Little Rock. The exhibit, on display through Nov. 4 in the Trinity Gallery for Arkansas Artists, includes Lopez’ abstract sculptures made from domestic objects — plants, rugs, piles of clothes — and Mitchell’s mixed-media pieces that incorporat­e historical references and pop culture trends through Xerox smudges, custom guitar shapes, hair metal bands and dazzle camouflage. For an “evening at the cinema,” during its 5-8 p.m. Friday open house, the Old State House Museum, 300 W. Markham St., Little Rock, will screen the 2006 film Night at the Museum at 5:30 p.m., with an introducti­on by museum staff. Soft drinks, beer, wine and popcorn will be available. Admission is free.
