Mr. JOE BOATNER, JR., 85, of Little Rock, died Tuesday, August 14, 2018. LULU CHENG CHI, 71, of Little Rock, passed away in the afternoon hours of Wednesday,

August 15, 2018.

She was born on

May 19, 1947 in Shanghai, China to Kuang Yong and Lin Shin

Cheng. Her family later moved to Taipei, Taiwan where she attended college and married her spouse, I-Kang (Bill) Chi. The couple would later move their family to the United States and find a home in Little Rock, Arkansas. Over the next 35 years, Mrs. Chi worked diligently in the Central Arkansas restaurant and hospitalit­y industry. Over time, she establishe­d an iconic and dynastic business presence in the Central Arkansas area.

Lulu worked tirelessly to bring out the best in the people around her. She regarded her family as her lasting legacy and always dedicated her time to establishi­ng something bigger than herself. Throughout her life and career, she gave the most she could to help others who needed her the most. Through tireless dedication, Mrs. Chi mentored many of her employees and associates. Often she was considered a maternal presence to those who she helped and guided. Spending time with her family, friends, and customers brought her the most joy in her life.

Mrs. Chi is preceded in death by her parents, Kuang Yong and Lin Shin Cheng, her brother, Hao Cheng, and her sister, San San Hsu. She is survived by her husband, I-Kang Chi; children, Jasen (Thuy) Chi and Jacob Chi; sisters, Jen Jen Liang (Jyh-Peyng) and Pei Pei Bigbee (Terry); grandchild­ren, Faith Chi, Abigayle Chi, Michael Chi, Lauren Chi, Nolan Chi, and Sophia Chi.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas. Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 20, at Parkway Place Baptist Church, 300 Parkway Place Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. Private graveside burial limited to family members will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Alexander, Arkansas.

16, 2018. Teddy was a man of many words and laughs with lots of stories and opinions.

He never held back and always told it just like it was. Teddy loved and was loved by his wife, Sibyl.

Teddy was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie E. Davis and Mary I. Luck. He is survived by his wife, Sibyl M. Ball; daughter, Lisa A. Dillard (Reginald); son, Chris W. Davis; grandchild­ren, Reginald II, Patrick, Troy, Raven, Seth and Jaylin; six great-grandchild­ren; brother, Carol Davis; sisters, Sherry McVay, Sue Osburn, Theresa Hinkson and Paula Fowler; and lots of nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

Teddy served in the U.S. Army as a tank driver, welder, and retired as a truck driver. In our hearts, he will always be the last true cowboy.

–––––❖––––– DANIEL J. HANLEY, DVM, 67, of Little Rock, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018, in Temple, Texas. Dan was born on March 14, 1951, in Topeka, Kansas. He was the son of Dennis and Maxine Hanley. Dan attended Washburn University, Class of 1974, and graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982 and was licensed to practice in Kansas and Arkansas. He was an equine veterinari­an in Pulaski County for 36 years. He was known for his knowledge, passion, and love for his job and the horses under his care.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Georgette, of Little Rock; his mother, Maxine of Derby, Kansas; his sister, Kris Johnson (Randy) also of Derby, Kansas; one brother-in-law, Richard Guerine of Melrose Park, Illinois; four nieces, and six great-nieces and nephews.

Dan previously made the decision to become an organ donor to give others the gift of life. With heavy hearts, his family honored his wishes this past Sunday.

Arrangemen­ts for a memorial service will be announced at a later date.

–––––❖––––– FLOYD LEE “PETE” PITTMAN JR. of Sherwood, age 79, went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Marene Caporale Pittman; daughters, LeAnne Burch, Lynne Callas (Jim), and Amy McGee (Joel); sons, Lee Pittman (Christi), Nathan Pittman (Becky), and Wes Ladner (Toni); sisters, Rose Pevey, Margaret Vaughn, and Lorraine Wilson; as well as 14 grandchild­ren, two great-grandchild­ren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Pauline Pittman, brother, Howard “Buck” Pittman, sister, Zelma Allen, and son-in-law, Bobby Burch.

Pete led a full and varied life with experience­s rivaled by few, including when his Arkansas National Guard unit was federalize­d during the Cuban missile crisis. He was later a pilot, commercial fisherman, entreprene­ur, and teacher. Pete was a proud Eagle Scout, and served as Boy Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, DeWitt Jaycee and as DeMolay Dad. However, his first and greatest love was being an Arkansas County farmer.

He loved classical music and was an avid gardener, hunter, and crappie fisherman, the latter of which he most enjoyed with his best canine friend, Jake. He was a past Worshipful Master of DeWitt Masonic Lodge #157 and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.

A celebratio­n of life will be held August 19 at 2 p.m. at Essex Funeral Home Chapel in DeWitt. He will be laid to rest at a private ceremony. JOY DARLENE STONEKING, 62, of Sherwood, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in Little Rock. She was born December 15, 1955, in Jacksonvil­le to the late Hollis and Emma Jean

Welch Barentine.

Mrs. Stoneking was preceded in death by her brothers, David and Dennis and sister, Christine.

Mrs. Stoneking is survived by her loving husband, Steven Stoneking; daughters, Wendy Parnell and Jnell Cook; son, Thomas (Stephanie) Owens; grandson, Colin Owens; granddaugh­ter, Maddie Cook; one great-granddaugh­ter, Emery Ella; sisters, Janie (Bob) Hansen and Connie (Buddy) Taylor; brother-in-law, Mike (Brenda) Stoneking; nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, Cindy Northcutt and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Wyles Sr.; brothers: Jimmy, Donny and

David Wyles and his daughter, Jennifer Wyles Riggs. He is survived by his mother, Shirla S. Wyles; his sister, Elizabeth Bowerman (Robert); brother, Johnny Wyles (Cindy); his grandchild­ren: Austin and Shirla R. Wyles, and many nieces and nephews who adored him.

Raymond was a proud Marine Corps veteran, former owner/ operator of Ace Roofing for over a decade and a loving caretaker to his family. He was a faithful Christian and a man of tremendous honor and will be dearly missed.
