TODAY ‘StoryShare’ show
Potluck & Poison Ivy patrons can share their tales on the theme of “Fate, Karma, or Plain Ole Luck” for a “StoryShare” program, 7 p.m. today at the Joint, 301 Main St., North Little Rock. The show kicks off with a couple of pre-selected stories; during the open mic portion, selected audience members will have five minutes to tell their stories — “an encounter, a win, finding something/someone/ your way out of a situation?” Stories must be true, but can be embellished, and can be “funny, touching, sad, or all three …. It should be your story, not your friend’s or mother’s or something you read online.”
The rest of the audience chooses the best story of the night, based on three criteria: sticking to the five-minute time frame, sticking to the theme and having a story with a conflict, crisis, and a resolution.
Singer-songwriter-instrumentalist Sizik Westbrook (the musical alter ego of Josh Stoffer) will perform. Doors open at 6. Tickets, $35, include dinner and the show; there will be a cash bar. Email info@ potluckandpoisonivy.org or visit potluckandpoisonivy.org.
