Introducing Library Square

-

This fall season, CALS has exciting news to share with Little Rock. We are enhancing the River Market area through the rebranding of our main downtown campus. Our upgraded, pedestrian-friendly CALS plaza will now be called Library Square. The Library Square tag on our events will make it easier for our patrons to find our many downtown offerings for culture, education, the arts, and entertainment. Library Square now includes these major public buildings: • The Main Library, which offers free public resources, computers, classes, and public programs, as well as a coffee shop coming soon; • The Roberts Library of Arkansas History & Art (formerly the Arkansas Studies Institute), which contains five art galleries now called “The Galleries at Library Square” as well as the collections of the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies; • The Bookstore at Library Square (formerly River Market Books& Gifts), which includes a retail book and gift store, art galleries, a new sandwich shop, and meeting rooms for talks, lectures, or parties; • The CALS Ron Robinson Theater, which features affordable films and live music in a comfortable, renovated 300-seat theater with full concessions. The creation of Library Square ushers in a new, vibrant era for CALS, for our patrons, and for our downtown neighbors. We’re kicking it off with a party on Friday, Oct. 12, 5-8 p.m. in the alley beside the Ron Robinson Theater. Come celebrate with us!
