SNEAD, Ala. — Jimmy Ray Sharp, 79, born in Little Rock, Arkansas November 25, 1938.

He is survived by the love of his life and fiance, Lynette Banks of Snead, Alabama where they resided together; his two sons and daughter. Ray, Craig and Ginger Sharp; his two Grandchildren, Javin and Brittany Sharp; his two brothers and sister. Lonnie Sharp, Ken Sharp and Peggy Hamlin; his fiance’s sons and would have been stepsons, Rodney and Randy Banks; multiple nieces and nephews and his very first great-granddaughter on the way!

Jim lived a quiet life in a simple town with Lynette and was as happy in love as two people could be. He found pleasure in his later years simply of playing cards with Lynette, enjoying her amazing cooking and always joking around. He loved teasing her just to get a rouse out of her or anyone in his presence. He never took life to seriously, always wanting to bring a smile.

He always loved football and grew up a Razorback fan but he reluctantly crossed over to an Alabama fan, by default, because of “his girl!”

Some of his enjoyment (or maybe frustration) was learning how to talk to Siri on his new iPhone, learning and downloading new Apps and asking questions to Google for mere entertainment. He did enjoy watching and reading about the stock market, learning all he could and watching the market daily. Sharing in conversations about it with his son, Craig.

Most people may remember Jim aka “Fatty Daddy” from the skating rink, Rink II, in NLR, Arkansas. Where he was part owner and a speed skating coach to so many. He helped many skaters become National Champions, year after year and he was a father figure to so many of the young kids and regular patrons that came skating weekly.

After the skating rink closed, he worked for a truck driving school, bringing in students until he decided to become a truck driver himself. He ran with different partners on and off with a few different companies, settling on driving by himself until he retired.

Memorial Service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. On-line guestbook at www. SmithFamilyCares.com.
