WILLIS THEODORE (TED) CALLAWAY, 80, of Little Rock passed away on Sunday, September 2,
2018. He was born in Lake Village, Ark., on December 2,
1937 to Martha
Cone Callaway and Willis T. Callaway. He was raised in Wilmot, graduated from high school where he was president of his class and active in sports and activities.
He attended ASTC (now University of Central Arkansas). At UCA, Ted was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon and was president of the honorary leadership organization. After graduating with a degree in business, he joined the Army Reserve and did his basic training at Fort Knox, Ky. He married his college sweetheart, Bette Wright, and they lived in Little Rock for 58 years.
He was with the Small Business Administration for 37 years and retired as Deputy District Director. Ted was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and then for 35 years was active at Fellowship Bible Church where he served in several ministry roles.
He loved the Razorbacks and followed them faithfully. After retirement, he was a volunteer at UAMS and the Prison Ministry at Hidden Creek.
He is survived by his wife, Bette of Little Rock; son, Dr. Michael (Cecilia) Callaway of Fort Smith; daughter, Kay (David) Michael of Little Rock; six grandchildren, Andrew Callaway and Amy (Neil) Carpenter of Kansas City, Matthew Callaway of Fort Smith, Jacob Michael of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Willis Callaway and Sarah Michael of Little Rock; half-sister, Rosemary Stafford of Deer Park, Texas; niece, Ashley Harris and his beloved dog, Bo. He is predeceased by his parents, step-father, Richard Bradshaw and sister, Pat Anderson.

–––––❖––––– WILLIAM “BILL” ROBERT FULK, age 88 of Little Rock, Arkansas died September 2, 2018. He was born on July 29, 1930 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Frank M. and Catherine Swintz Fulk. Bill was a graduate of Little Rock High School in 1948 and attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. As a
young man, he enjoyed painting with oils and acrylics and spent many hours building ships in bottles of all sizes, from miniature to gallon jugs.
In addition, he was a longtime member of The
Bible Church of
Little Rock.
Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann Fulk; daughter, Alice Fulk; sister, Virginia Harville Rowland; nephew, John Harville (Kim); nieces, Cathy Mulford and Robbin Harville as well as many other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his twin brother, Frank M. Fulk, Jr.

–––––❖––––– WILLIAM REX HELMER, 80, of Jacksonville passed from this life on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Thursday, October 7,
1937 in Miami,
Arizona to the late Forrest Halverson and
Irene Elizabeth
Kenton Helmer.
Rex graduated from the University of
Arizona with a degree in Engineering and was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for more than Twenty-one years. After retiring from the Air Force Rex continued working for another twenty years at Signs First. He loved antique automobiles, especially his 1930 Model A Ford. He was past President of the Razorback Auto Club and the Central Arkansas Mustangers. He enjoyed flying radio controlled airplanes, water skiing and boating, and could fix anything. Rex attended Jacksonville First United Methodist Church where he was a member of The Light Maintenance Team. Despite losing his father at a very young age, Rex went on to become a successful man in every sense. He was preceded in death by his first wife of thirty years, Sandra Albright Helmer in 1994.
Survivors include his wife of twenty one years, Kathleen Hahn Helmer; children, Andrea (Jerrold) Hines of Little Rock, Shane (Sarah) Helmer of Lincoln, Lonny (Suson) Wheeler of Fayetteville, Dean (Jennifer) Wheeler of North Little Rock, Brandon (Barbara) Wheeler of Canterbury, U.K.; grandchildren, Keegan Hines, Sanderson Hines, Rex Helmer, Zachary Helmer, Molly Helmer, Finn Helmer, Sarah Wheeler, Ben Wheeler, Sierra Wheeler, Gavin James, Landon Wright, Pietro Wheeler and Timo Wheeler. Other survivors include siblings, Linda (Paul) Dore of Peoria, Arizona, Wes Berry (Ginger Biddle) of Strawberry, Arizona, and Jim Berry of Miami, Arizona; along with several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Jacksonville First United Methodist Church with Pastor Nathan Kilbourne officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Dale Ward; son, Richard Burkhart; and sister, Cleta Gray.
Survivors include two sons, Rocky Burkhart of Hensley and Robin Burkhart of Sherwood; two grandchildren, Ryan Burkhart and Adam Burkhart; three great-grandchildren, Sadie Burkhart, Gwendolyn Burkhart and William Burkhart; and one brother, Wayne Kessler of Oklahoma City, Okla.

She was born
May 21, 1933, in Havana, Arkansas, to the late
Roy and Gladys (Brewer) Mott.
Pebble was a secretary at Farm Bureau in Danville for many years. Following her retirement she also worked at Chambers Bank for several years. She was a member of the Western Yell Church of Christ.
She enjoyed reading, and working the New York Times Crossword Puzzles.
She is preceded in death by her son, Barry Adrian Mobley, and brothers, Ray and Glen Mott, and her parents before mentioned.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2018, at the Western Yell County Church of Christ in Havana, Arkansas, with burial in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery in Waveland, Arkansas, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

Sept. 1 at the age of 94 years,
10 months, and
9 days. She was born on Oct.
23, 1923, to the late Clyde Barrett and Estelle
Boone Doss of the Coleman community near Monticello, Ark.
She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia, and Irving Chapman of Ozark. Grandchildren; Tracy and his son Dakota Chapman of Ozark, Tony Chapman, Todd Monsey and their daughter Olivia of Dallas, Kim and Toby Hogan of Ozark and their daughter, Hayley, and Cameron Jernigan of Rogers, and Joe Bill Watson of Mtn. Home. One sister-in-law, Norma Tyson Doss of Hot Springs Village.
Juanita joins her husband of 69 years, Russell Appleberry, her daughter, Jeanie Watson, and two brothers, Curtis and Reginald Doss, in Heaven. Juanita and Russell were members of the First United Methodist Church in Ozark.
Juanita met the love of her life when she was 12 years old and her family moved across the meadow from his. The first day Russell came to call, she saw him from the window and it was love at first sight.
Juanita was a devoted wife and mother. She and Russell raised their two daughters in McGehee, Ark. She took great pride in her home and her role as a homemaker. Juanita applied her passion for traditional design to every corner of their family homes in McGehee and Little Rock, as well as the home she and Russell built together in Ozark.
She was a born reader and believed in being a student all of one’s life. While in McGehee, Juanita used the money she earned keeping the books for Appleberry Equipment Co. to buy her own set of the World Book Encyclopedia, and studied at the Univ. of Ark. at Monticello. She used her time in Little Rock to take countless college courses at the Univ. of Ark.
Once Juanita and Russell moved to Ozark, she joined the United Methodist Women and loved using all she learned to discuss scripture and its meaning in the Taylor Sunday school class. Juanita said that learning was the most fun she could have.
The family would like to personally thank Karen Miranda, Mary Ross, Juanita Henry, and Thelma Burt for the love and devotion you each shared with Juanita in caring for her the past five years, as well as the N. Franklin Co. team at the Heart of Hospice for exceeding our expectations of service.
A memorial service will be held at 10am Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the First United Methodist Church with Bro. Carlton Cross officiating. Grandson Tony Chapman will give the eulogy. Pallbearers include Tracy and Dakota Chapman, Joe Bill Watson, Toby Hogan, Todd Monsey and Cameron Jernigan. She will be laid to rest at the Highland Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark.
–––––❖––––– REDFIELD — David Bowling of Redfield, Arkansas, age 64. Born in Coy, Arkansas to Clevis and Florence Bowling passed away on September 2, 2018.
He has previously resided in Sweet Home and Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a true believer of the Christian faith and a longtime member of the Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his father, mother and two brothers: Jerry and Danny Bowling and Grandson, Colton Blake. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Martha, two daughters: Sheila Bennett, Michelle Downie, and son Chris Bowling, all of Redfield. Also survived by a sister, Kathy Morrow of Pine Bluff, 5 grandchildren: Cameron Bennett, Derek Bennett, Alec Downie, Shelby Bennett and Mathew Downie.
David graduated from Mills High School, Class of 1972. He retired from Central Arkansas Water after 34 years of service.
David loved spending time with his family and friends. David enjoyed his ’55 Chevy he refurbished, four wheeling, football, car shows and we have a host of memories of Lake Norrell weekends and holidays with family and friends.

She was born May 30, 1924 to Charlie and Essie Narramore.
She is preceded in death by her husband Vernon (the love of her life for 67 years), her parents Charlie and Essie Narramore, brother Jack, infant sister Edwina and infant grandson Andrew.
She is survived by three children, Tom (Brenda) of North Little Rock; Nancy (Jesse) of Yellville; and Tim (Tammie) of Flippin and two brothers, Charles Narramore (Diana, Texas) and Frank Narramore (Yellville). She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and caring friend. She was a lifelong member of Cedar Grove Methodist Church.
Mema, as she was known to her grandchildren, was happiest sharing stories, enjoying laughs, and serving delicious food she’d prepared with love, surrounded by her family.
