FRANKLIN PAUL BELL, 84, of Sherwood, a retired Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, died August 30th. Paul was born in 1933, joined the United States Air Force, becoming a Flight Engineer on C-130 cargo airplanes. During his years of service, Paul did two tours in Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by his former wife Donna K. Bell and his daughter Susan J. James. He is survived by four children, ten grandchild­ren, and five great-grandchild­ren.

2, 2018 with his family at his side.

He leaves behind his wife of

65 years, Joan

(Bare) Rechtin; his sister, June Fernandez; his daughter, Julie Williams; his son

Mark Rechtin and his wife Tammy; and six wonderful grandchild­ren, Jake, Sarah, Michael, Pierce, Garrett and Anna.

Dick was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son or Clarence and Catherine (Kues) Rechtin.

After graduating from Western Hills high school, he attended the University of Cincinnati, where he was a proud member of Pi Kappa Alpha, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business in 1952. It was at UC where he first met Joan driving home in a snowstorm. They were married in 1952 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church.

Dick joined the Kroger company where he worked for 20 years. Kroger brought Dick and Joan to Little Rock in 1963 where he held his favorite position with Kroger, Head Meat Merchandis­er for the Little Rock division. Shortly after leaving Kroger, he started his own business, Mark VII, a food brokerage which he successful­ly operated in Little Rock for the next 21 years. Dick was a highly ethical and hardworkin­g entreprene­ur providing employment for over a dozen people at the peak of his business in the early 1990s. Dick dearly loved his friends and family, had a nickname for everyone he loved, had a great sense of humor, and was an avid golfer. He will be greatly missed.

Dick’s body will be available for viewing at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock on Thursday, September 6th from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fayettevil­le on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. A graveside burial service will also be held in Little Rock at Mt. Holly Cemetery on Broadway Street on Saturday, September 8th at Noon.

Mr. YIM HONG YEE died peacefully surrounded by family on September 2 in North Little

Rock, Arkansas at the age of 90.

Yim was born on February 12, 1928 in Canton, China.

When he was 8 years old, Yim immigrated to the United States and was raised in Portland, Arkansas. In 1952 he joined the Navy and served out his duty in St. John, Newfoundla­nd during the Korean War. In 1955, Yim returned to Arkansas where he opened College Station Liquor Store which he owned and operated for 43 years in College Station, Arkansas. In 1956, he married Mary Loy of Helena, Arkansas. Over 11 years, the couple welcomed three children into their home. His children remember him as a gentle and patient father who guided and encouraged them his whole life.

Yim was a kind and generous individual who befriended everyone he met. He was known for being a great storytelle­r as he recounted the people and experience­s of his life. Yim enjoyed spending hours fishing on Lake Conway, where he often took his friends and family. On his return from a day at the lake, he would enjoy another pastime of his — listening to music.

He was an active and dedicated member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where he volunteere­d as an usher for over 20 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus where he was a Fourth Degree Knight.

Yim is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Marie (Van) Whitworth of Flower Mound, Texas, Mark Yee of Venice, California; grandchild­ren Hannah Whitworth of Fayettevil­le, Arkansas and Haley Whitworth of Flower Mound, Texas. He is preceded in death by his son, Stephen Yee and his grandson, Tanner Whitworth.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 7 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home; and a rosary will follow at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for Saturday, September 8 at 12 noon at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
