2018 at home surrounded by family. He was born October

26, 1945 in Little

Rock, to William and Virginia Evans Brown.

James was a member of Geyer Springs First

Baptist Church for 30 years. He joined the Navy in 1965 serving

his country on USS Yosemite. He worked as a butcher at Safeway in Little Rock for 17 years, later becoming a successful business owner.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Faye Staton Brown; two sons, Stephen Brown and Andy Brown (Andrea); one brother, William R. Brown (Betty); one sister, Rita Elder (Fred); and two grandchild­ren, Drake and Sydney Brown who were his world.

–––––❖––––– MARJORIE N. DARLING, 97, of Little Rock, passed away September 5, 2018. Born in Alton, New Hampshire to Arthur and Essel Clough Emerson, she was a seamstress, member of the Eastern Star, an Order of DeMolay mother, a den mother and a Red Cross volunteer. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her children, Mary Huckeby of Bald Knob and David Taylor of Little Rock; stepchildr­en, Clinton Darling (Lauren) of Portland, Oregon, Charlene Mooney of Dover, New Hampshire and Barry Darling of Sandwich, New Hampshire; daughter-in-law, Connie Taylor; 15 grandchild­ren, 17 great-grandchild­ren and two great-great-grandchild­ren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Henry Taylor and Charles Darling, son, Raymond Taylor and daughter-inlaw, Janice Taylor.

Marsha was a long time employee of Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield. She will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and co-workers.

–––––❖––––– NANCY OWEN REAVES, of Little Rock and formerly a longtime resident of Germantown,

Tenn., devoted wife and loving mother, friend, homemaker and Christ-follower, died peacefully Wednesday morning, September 5, 2018, in Little Rock following a brief illness.

Born on January 14, 1931, in New Albany, Mississipp­i, Nancy lived in cities all across the country, finally landing in Memphis in her early teens. There she met a handsome service man fresh home from the war dressed in a stunning Army Air Corp uniform. They were married within the year when she was only fifteen, he, 20. When Sam died in July of 2016, they had been married nearly 70 years.

She is survived by her brother Jimmy Owen of Benson, Arizona, and four daughters, Martha Lee (Marcie) Moore, Linda Slaton, Sammie Kaye Morris, and Mary Ruddle; nine grandchild­ren, Nancy Pearson, Walter (Watty) Moore, Hunter Reaves Slaton, Jacob Reaves Slaton, Samuel Reaves Slaton, Carrie Reaves Slaton, Autumn Schultz, Evelyn Grace Arellano, and Stephen Mills; and eight great grandchild­ren, Joseph (Joey) Pearson, Emma Slaton, Winn Slaton, Rosemary (Rosie) Slaton, Penelope Schultz, Eli Schultz, Levin Aialik Slaton, and Levin David Slaton. She is predecease­d by her husband, Sam Noel Reaves, sister Betty Jo Hamilton, and brothers John and Billy Owen. Nancy also leaves behind many beloved extended family members and countless friends.

A Service Celebratin­g her life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Colliervil­le Funeral Home with visitation and a catered reception beginning at noon for all family and friends.

Nancy will be interred next to Sam at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery next week. Honorary pallbearer­s will be Walter Moore, Hunter, Jacob and Samuel Slaton, Joey Pearson and Cameron Ruddle.
