Project continues season with musicians, dancers
The Muses Creative Artistry Project continues its 2018 Four Seasons in Art & Song season with a program titled “Opera Classics Plus! — Sing to Love,” with the troupe of professional singers, dancers and instrumentalists (plus students from the Arkansas School of Math Sciences and the Arts choir) performing arias, duets and ensembles from “beloved operas and musicals.”
The program includes La Traviata, Carmen, Madame Butterfly, Cosi Fan Tutti, The Magic Flute, Die Fledermaus, Les Miserables, West Side Story, The Secret Garden and Sweeney Todd.

Smile for the Camera
Peter Funt, son of Candid Camera creator and longtime host Allen Funt, will host Candid Camera’s 8 Decades of Smiles! With Peter Funt, including “clips, quips and behind-the-scenes tales from the show’s funniest moments,” 3 p.m. today at the Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center, University of Arkansas, 453 N. Studio tour
Artists and craftsmen living and working within 30 miles of the courthouse square in Mountain View will open their studios for the 17th “Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour,” 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 16. The free self-guided driving tour, from Pineville south to Mountain View, west to Fox and east to Guion, provides an up-close look at 29 studios and 36 artists.

Rep reading auditions
The Arkansas Repertory Theatre will hold auditions for a diverse company of actors age 16 and up, Saturday at Arkansas Repertory Theatre’s Education Annex, 518 Main St., Little Rock, for its “Plays in Progress” reading series, staged readings of three new plays by central Arkansas playwrights: Unemployment by Werner Trieschmann (Oct. 6), Life Science by Judy B. Goss (Nov. 3) and Blood Moon by John Haman (Dec. 1). Actors must provide three head shots/ resumes and prepare portions of the scripts that will be provided when they make an audition appointment — email Company Manager/Resident Casting Director Peter Mensky at pmensky@therep.org and put “Play Reading Appointment” as the subject line. The plays contain adult language and subject matter.

Public art workshop
Forecast Public Art, a St. Paul, Minn.-based nonprofit that aims to improve communities through public art, will hold a two-day workshop, titled “Making It Public,” for Northwest Arkansas artists interested in making public art, Oct. 20-21 at Art Center of the Ozarks, 214 S. Main St., Springdale. The workshop is open to artists of all disciplines, including, but not limited to, screen printing, sculpture and painting. Deadline to register is 5 p.m. Sept. 24. There is no cost to participate. Support for the workshop comes from the Walton Family Foundation.
