Joe Sedinger, sheriff in Autauga County, Ala., said deputies responding to an anonymous call of possible child abuse found a 13-yearold boy naked with chains padlocked around his ankles, resulting in the arrest of his mother, stepfather and grandmothe­r.

Dana Thomas Byrd, 30, was arrested by Florida police after fatally striking Dhimitri Andoni, 22, with his pickup while Andoni was helping a motorist on an interstate highway and then stealing Andoni’s car, according to authoritie­s.
