Cheryl Lynn White and John David Tamas exchanged wedding vows at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Rockefeller Rooftop in the Harwood District of Uptown Dallas. The father of the groom, an elder at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Little Rock, officiated.
Parents of the bride are Dinah White of West Fork and Ken White of Cassville, Mo. Her grandparents are Willa and Jim White of Rogers, Myrtle Guinn of Brook Park, Ohio, and the late Orville Guinn.
The groom is the son of Kathy and Dr. David Tamas of Little Rock. He is the grandson of Edward Tamas of Atlanta, the late Joyce Donohue of Hot Springs and the late Joan and Thomas Dobson of Jacksonville, Fla.
The ceremony site, with a view of downtown Dallas, was decorated with arrangements of garden roses, hypericum, protea and eucalyptus. Music was by violinist Dean Raskin of Dallas.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore a chapel-length ivory gown of French floral lace with a deep V-neckline and back. Her bouquet was filled with pink and red-black roses, blush and red spray roses, protea and eucalyptus.
Bridesmaids were Sharon Florquist of Rogers; Laura Katherine Schembri of Manhassett, N.Y., sister of the groom; Sarah Wilson of Washington; and Jessica Brandon of Fayetteville. They wore sleeveless blush-colored gowns and carried bouquets similar to the bride’s.
Flower girl and ring bearer were Elaida White of Rogers, niece of the bride, and Ethan Schembri of Manhassett, nephew of the groom.
Groomsmen were Dr. James Tamas of Durham, N.C., brother of the groom; Stephen Schembri of Manhassett; Kyle White of Rogers, brother of the bride; Jason Peart of Houston; and Jerad King of Denver. Guests were seated by Jett Preston of Springdale, cousin of the bride.
Banquet tables at a reception — also at Rockefeller Rooftop — were covered with ivory and burgundy linens and lined with garlands of Italian Ruscus and white candles in glass holders.
The bride has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and plans to graduate in May with a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pennsylvania. She is senior product marketing manager at Samsung Electronics.
The groom is a UA graduate with a bachelor’s degree in finance and also plans to graduate with a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pennsylvania. He is vice president of leveraged finance at NXT Capital.
The couple will make their home in Dallas and plan a wedding trip in early 2019.
