Workshops to focus on grant procedures

The Arkansas Economic Developmen­t Commission will host five workshops across the state this month regarding procedures for applying for grants.

The workshops will also serve as initial public notice of funding availabili­ty through the competitiv­e cycle of the 2019 General Assistance program.

The General Assistance program is designed to provide some cities and counties with the opportunit­y to apply for grant assistance for public works and public-facility projects that are not covered under other funding categories.

Meeting dates and locations are: today at the Arkansas Municipal League in North Little Rock, 301 W. Second St.; Nov. 13 at the community center in Dumas, 18 Belmont St.; Nov. 14 at the Newport Economic Developmen­t Commission in Newport, 201 Hazel St.; Nov. 15 at the community center in Mulberry, 29 Kirksey Parkway; and Nov. 16 at City Hall in Hope, 206 W. Ave. A.

Each workshop begins at 10 a.m. and is free and open to the public. No registrati­on is required.
