Arkansas falls at LSU

The University of Arkansas lost 26-24, 25-18, 22-25, 25-18 to LSU on Sunday at Barnhill Arena in Fayettevil­le.

Hailey Dirrgl led the Razorbacks (11-13, 5-9 SEC) with 17 kills, while Elizabeth Pamphile and Logan Brown had 12 kills. Gracie Ryan had 24 assists and Rachel Rippe had 23 for Arkansas.

Taylor Bannister led LSU (11-14, 6-8) with 12 kills.

UALR seeded 4th, ASU 6th in Sun Belt Tournament The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (18-11, 10-6 Sun Belt) earned the fourth seed while Arkansas State University (17-12, 9-7) earned the sixth seed in the Sun Belt Tournament in Atlanta.

The Trojans will meet No. 5 seed Texas-Arlington (15-11, 9-7) or No. 8 seed Troy (11-18, 5-11) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, with the winner facing No. 1 seed Texas State (24-6, 15-1) at 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Red Wolves will meet South Alabama (13-16, 7-9) at 4 p.m. Thursday in the first round. The winner faces Coastal Carolina (12-12, 11-5) at 4 p.m. Friday.

The championsh­ip game is set for noon Sunday.

Carlisa May led the Red Wolves (17-12, 9-7) with 13 kills. Ellie Watkins had 25 assists, and Kenzie Fields had 12 digs.

Hanna Rovira led Louisiana-Lafayette (15-15, 7-9) with 13 kills.
