WHEN UCA HAS THE BALL Coming off three consecutiv­e losses, UCA will need to avoid turnovers and run the ball to take pressure off redshirt freshman quarterbac­k Luke Hales. Through six starts, Hales has passed for a total of 1,417 yards and 16 touchdowns. He has thrown 8 intercepti­ons, including 4 in UCA’s last game, a 40-27 loss to Incarnate Word last Saturday. UCA rushed for 37 yards in the loss. The Bears will need to come closer to their season average of 149.9 rushing yards a game. Junior running back Carlos Blackman leads UCA with 701 yards and 9 touchdowns. Senior receiver Lester Wells leads UCA’s receivers with 52 catches for 632 yards and 4 touchdowns. WHEN ABILENE CHRISTIAN HAS THE BALL The Wildcats are third in the Southland Conference in total offense with an average of 460.1 yards a game, led by sophomore quarterbac­k Luke Anthony, who has completed 66.5 percent of his passes for 2,794 yards and 22 touchdowns 7 intercepti­ons. His top receiver has been junior Josh Fink, who has caught 51 passes for 608 yard and 4 touchdowns. A total of eight receivers have caught 20 or more passes for the Wildcats this season. Junior Tracy James leads the team in rushing with 774 yards and 6 touchdowns.

WHAT’S AT STAKE With a victory, UCA can extend its streak of seasons without a losing record to nine. It finished 5-7 in 2009.
