Nettleton’s Love heading to ASU

Nettleton High School star Mya Love filed her letter of intent to the Arkansas State University women’s basketball team on Friday.

Love, a 5-8 guard, led Nettleton with 14 points and 2.6 steals per game last season. Nettleton was 29-3 overall in Love’s junior season and won the 5A-East Conference title with a 17-1 record.

Behind Love, Nettleton advanced to the Class 5A state semifinals for the third time in school history.

“I have really enjoyed watching Mya throughout her high school career,” ASU Coach Brian Boyer said in a news release. “The first thing that stands out is how competitive she is and that she is a proven winner. I think she has the ability to be as good of a defender as there is in the Sun Belt and she fits in offensively with the quickness of this league.”
