■ Keelan Miller, 23, of Sedalia, Mo., was sentenced to 120 days of bootcamp-style incarcerat­ion for dumping the body of a 19-year-old woman he had met through an online dating app after he supplied her with alcohol and she died with a blood-alcohol content that was seven times higher than the state’s legal limit.

■ Matthew Hedges, 31, a British doctoral student focusing on Middle Eastern studies, was sentenced to life in prison in the United Arab Emirates after being convicted of spying — a verdict that British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt called “unacceptab­le.”

■ Sandra Inman, a Tennessee woman accused of interferin­g with a legal bear hunt by catching and stealing a hunting dog, was briefly jailed for violating the state’s Hunter Protection Act and other counts, authoritie­s said.

■ Niels Hoegel, 41, a nurse on trial in Oldenburg, Germany, accused of killing 100 patients at two hospitals a decade ago, apologized in court for each individual death, “regardless of whether I remember it or not.”

■ Marlette Fernando said her pet pigeon, Olive, which sports a rhinestone-studded vest, disappeare­d from her coop in north Phoenix on Nov. 7 and was returned home Tuesday when a friend spotted a social media post about the bird, which had been found and taken to a bird rescue center.
