Ex-governors among LR center’s speakers

The University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service Speaker Series will hold four events in December.

They feature:

■ Former Arkansas governors Mike Huckabee and Mike Beebe discussing health care, part of a celebratio­n of 20 years of the Arkansas Center for Health Improvemen­t, 6 p.m. Dec. 3, Wally Allen Ballroom, Statehouse Convention Center, 100 E. Markham St., Little Rock. (In partnershi­p with the Arkansas Center for Health Improvemen­t.)

■ Authors Mel and Joan Gordon, who will discuss the life of General Casimir Pulaski, a Polish count and Revolution­ary War hero, for whom Pulaski County is named, noon Dec. 5, Ron Robinson Theater, Library Square, 100 River Market Ave., Little Rock. (In partnershi­p with the Central Arkansas Library System Butler Center for Arkansas Studies.)

■ Participan­ts from a program in which Japanese residents visit various places in the United States, noon, Dec. 10, Sturgis Hall, UA Clinton School, William J. Clinton Presidenti­al Center and Park, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock. Since 2014, the “Walk in U.S., Talk on Japan” groups, while traveling, take part in exchanges at local grassroots levels, discussing Japan-U.S. relationsh­ips and recent developmen­ts in Japan. ■ Donna Brazile, Yolanda Caraway, Leah Daughtry, and Minyon Moore, the authors of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Politics,6 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Clinton Center, on the grounds of the William J. Clinton Presidenti­al Center and Park, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock. (In partnershi­p with the Clinton Foundation, with a book-signing session afterward.)
