Local 4-H clubs seeking members
SEARCY — The White County Cooperative Extension Service sponsors 12 community 4-H clubs and four countywide 4-H clubs. New members are always welcome. Membership is open to young people ages 5 to 19 who are interested in a wide variety of subjects.
Local community clubs include the following:
• The Antioch-Beebe 4-H Club meets at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month in the Beebe Community Room.
• The Bear Pride 4-H Club meets at 6:30 p.m. the first Monday of every month in the White County Central School Cafeteria.
• The Beebe Middle School 4-H Club, for Beebe Middle School students only, meets Wednesday after school.
• The Big Creek 4-H Club meets at 6 p.m. the second Monday of every month at Vicky King’s house.
• The Gum Spring 4-H Club meets at the Searcy Municipal Airport — times and dates vary.
• The Homeschool 4-H Club meets at 1:30 p.m. the first Monday of every month at the Searcy Park Avenue Baptist Church.
• The Mount Pleasant 4-H Club meets at 3:15 p.m. the second Monday of every month at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church.
• The New Life 4-H Club meets at noon the second Friday of every month at Rose Bud United Methodist Church.
• The Rose Bud Mavericks 4-H Club meets at 6 p.m. the third Tuesday of every month at the Rose Bud Community Center.
• The Tri-Comm 4-H Club meets at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month at Lifeline Baptist Church in Pleasant Plains.
• The Velvet Ridge 4-H Club meets at 6:30 p.m. the first Monday of every month at Community in Christ Church in Bald Knob.
• The White County Central 4-H Club meets at 3:30 p.m. the second Thursday of every month in the White County Central High School Agriculture Building.
Countywide clubs include the following:
• The Cattle Club meets at 6:30 p.m. the third Monday of every other month, starting in January, at Arkansas State University-Searcy.
• The Shooting Sports Club meets at 6 p.m. every Thursday, beginning in January, at the White County Fairgrounds and the Veterans Elite Tactical and Sport Shooting Range.
• The Teen Leader Club, for children ages 13 and older, meets at 6:30 p.m. the last Monday of every month at ASU-Searcy.
• The Vet Science Club meets at 6 p.m. the third Monday of every other month, starting in February, at ASU-Searcy.
