Time ripe for censure

Now is the time for all good men and women to come to the aid of the party of America by urging the U.S. Senate to censure President Trump, and by encouraging the Democraticleaning House of Representatives to impeach Trump.

We now know for certain President Trump is a self-proclaimed nationalist: “So in that sense I am absolutely a nationalist, and I’m proud of it.” This was at a rally in late October. Decent Americans would never stand for this kind of president. The Doctrine of Fascism accurately describes what Trump and his Republicans have built in America: “We are free to believe that this is the century of authority, a century tending to the ‘right,’ a fascist century.” Obviously, America is headed in the direction of Mussolini and Gentile. If Congress had any sense, it would remove Trump from office as quickly as possible.

What then? Beware of the new President Mike Pence because Pence may be even more dangerous than Trump. The base of America’s right-winged disinformation comes from radio talkshow hosts such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck. Mike Pence was one of those radio blowhards back in the ’90s. Pence’s political nostrums were a sure cure for prosperity. A President Pence could take away Medicare and Social Security much more quickly than President Trump ever could. But maybe Pence would not brag about being a nationalist. GENE MASON
