-

Authorities are working to confirm the identity of a person killed Wednesday in a fiery two-car crash on U.S. 167, and a northeast Arkansas man died when his pickup crashed head-on into a tractor-trailer, authorities said.

The unidentified driver was pronounced dead early Wednesday, and a woman driving the other vehicle was injured after the crash in Sheridan, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

Megan Crews, 35, of North Little Rock was driving a 2006 Honda south on U.S. 167 shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday when her vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a 1995 Jeep headon, according to the report.

The Jeep caught fire and the driver was pronounced dead at 12:15 a.m., the report said. The driver’s identity will be confirmed through analysis by the state Crime Laboratory, the report said.

Charles B. Mosley of Marmaduke died Wednesday afternoon

after he lost control of his pickup and crashed into a tractor-trailer.

Mosley, 41, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado west on East Highland Drive in Jonesboro about 3:45 p.m. when he crossed the middle turn lane and hit an 18-wheeler driven by Brad Talcott, 41, of Lake Dallas, a state police report said.

The pickup then rotated back to the westbound lane and collided with a third vehicle, police said.

Mosley suffered fatal injuries. Talcott was listed as injured, though the report didn’t specify the extent of his injuries.

At least 456 people have died in traffic crashes in Arkansas this year, according to preliminary figures.
