At the Bush funeral

-

In reply to Kim Sanders: The actions of the Obamas and the Clintons at the funeral for President George H.W. Bush did not appear overly exasperating to me. What was starkly apparent to me was that none of the three presidents—Trump, Obama, or the Clintons—seemed to acknowledge the Carters.

It seemed George W. Bush was the only class act that acknowledged all four former presidents, apparently following his father’s example of kindness to all.

My personal thoughts: The music was outstanding. Most people recognized and/or know the words of the hymns sung and they are personal favorites of mine, unlike the “modern” music performed at churches today. I often wonder who will want these repetitive “modern” lyrics sung at their funerals? I agree I am biased, but when the “band” plays so loudly you cannot hear the parishioners singing, to me that is wrong.

And last: I watched, listened, and grieved for the Bush family and their loss. I couldn’t help wondering what the funeral dialogue will be when Trump dies. How and who will be able to speak of Trump’s life in a positive, truthful way?

I am certain this funeral has spurred Trump to start making his own plans of grandeur for his departure of this earth. The thing he cannot control is the people’s assessment of him after he is gone.
