Jeff Williams joined the Arkansas Department of Human Services’ Office of Legislativ­e and Intergover­nmental Affairs as deputy chief of legislativ­e affairs.

Michael Crump, director of the Department of Human Services Office of Compliance and Integrity, will serve as interim director of the agency’s Division of Youth Services.

Cassondra WilliamsSt­okes has been confirmed as director of the Division of Services for the Blind, at the Department of Human Services. Williams-Stokes had served as interim director of the division since August 2018.

HIGHER EDUCATION

Elizabeth Hood, Samuel S. Lipscomb Professor in Agricultur­e at Arkansas State University, has been named a Fellow of the American Associatio­n for the Advancemen­t of Science.

Shauna A. Morimoto, an associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminolog­y at the University of Arkansas, Fayettevil­le, has been elected to serve as the Career Developmen­t Committee Chair for Sociologis­ts for Women in Society.

MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT

Bill Burrough, Hot Springs/interim city manager/deputy city manager, has been named Hot Springs city manager.

RADIO

Brooke Fox and Jubal Flagg will host Brooke and Jubal in the Morning on KHLR 106.7, owned and operated by Signal Media of Arkansas in Little Rock.

Medical

Dr. Solomon G. Brotman, a dentist, has joined Life & Specialty Ventures as vice president of national clinical operations. Life & Specialty Ventures is a joint venture of independen­t Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies that partners in the delivery of Blue Cross Blue Shield dental plans in their markets. Its affiliate insurance company, USAble LifeSM.
