–––––❖––––– SAMMIE (ROBYN) ROBERTA AMBROSE, 59, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at Baptist Medical Center ICU, from complications from a pulmonary disorder. She had been a member of Highland Valley United Methodist Church through her youth. Although she was no longer active in the church, she remained a deeply spiritual person. She was a graduate of Joe T. Robinson High School class of 1977. She then became a paramedic for many years. She was also a unit secretary at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hot Springs.
Robyn’s greatest delight was her daughter Brittany Kos and fiancé Brian Bealer and her four grandsons Lane Stout, Logan Kos, Bryson Bealer, and Carson Bealer. She is also survived by her mother, Nell Ambrose and two brothers, John Ambrose and his wife Nancy, and Harry Ambrose. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Harry E. Ambrose.

CECIL HARDEN FURR, 76, of Roland, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018. He was born April 1, 1942 to Jessie and Ina (McCallie) Furr of
England, Arkansas. Cecil was a truck driver for Pepsi Cola, Specialty Oil, and retired from
River City Oil. He was a member of
North Point Baptist Church.
He lived his life loving God, his family and friends.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports.
He always loved visiting with his family and friends, because he loved to talk and had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Furr; two sons Todd and Shawn Furr; two daughters Temple David (Scrib) and Stephanie Davis (Noble); eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons, two brothers, and three sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Mary Furr.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 and funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 15th both at Natural Steps Baptist Church in Roland. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
–––––❖––––– DONALD “DUCK” GRAY of Little Rock, born January 12, 1950, passed December 9, 2018; preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Pearl Gray, grandparents, John and George Ella Phillips, brother Larry Gray and sister Jeannie Dean. He is survived by eight children, Tina, Mark, Nina, Damillah, Cassaundra, Donyell, Donald Jr., and Moya; four brothers, Howard Gray, Steve Gray, Tommie Dean, and Michael Dean; two sisters Toni Williams and Lucrittia Dean; 23 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Donald was the owner of Gray construction for 35 years. He was a graduate of L.R Central High School Class of 1968, served in the U.S. Marine Corp as well as being a Vietnam War veteran. ALMA VIVIAN HUDSON, more affectionately known as Bib or Bibby, at the age of
94, went to be with her Lord and
Savior early Sunday morning, December 9, 2018, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mrs.
Hudson was born on April 19, 1924, in Rolla, Missouri.
Mrs. Hudson was from Little Rock, Arkansas. Prior to her death, Mrs. Hudson lived in Sherwood and North Little Rock. Earlier in life, Mrs. Hudson also lived in Jonesboro, Paragould, Wilson, and Walnut Ridge.
Mrs. Hudson is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Delle McDowell, eight brothers and sisters, her husband of 52 years, Charles (Charlie) Hudson, her son, James (Jim) Hudson (Pamela), and one grandson, Christopher Hudson. Mrs. Hudson is survived by one younger sister, Jenny Boyd (Jack) of Joplin, Missouri, daughter Claudia Hudson-Howard (Sam) of Fairfield Bay, daughter-in-Law, Pamela Hudson of Little Rock, three granddaughters, Cara Hudson-Owen (Heath) of Nashville, Tennessee, Lauren Howard-Nicolle (Bryan), of Conway, Emily Hudson of Little Rock, one grandson, Trevor Hudson of Little Rock, and three great-grandchildren, Stella Owen and Hudson Owen of Nashville, Tennessee, and Vivian Hudson of Little Rock. Mrs. Hudson is also survived by a host of beloved and cherished nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hudson was married to her late husband, Charles (Charlie) Hudson for 52 years prior to Mr. Hudson’s death in 1993. Together they lived through and survived World War II, raised two children, loved on and cherished their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, owned and managed Hudson Dairy in Paragould, their cattle farms in Pulaski and White Counties, and owned and managed C.H. Equipment Company, Inc. in Little Rock. Mrs. Hudson devoted her entire adult life to her husband and family, and worked alongside her husband in their businesses. She was the epidemy of the loyal and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Hudson was the role model for the pure and clean life style. Only pure words were ever heard from her mouth. Mrs. Hudson was well read, an avid reader, and belonged to various book clubs. Mrs. Hudson loved to listen to country music and enjoyed watching talent shows. Mrs. Hudson always took pride in her appearance and always looked forward to her standing weekly appointments with her hair dresser. Mrs. Hudson was an awesome cook and will be fondly remembered for her Sunday evening meals that would have fed the entire neighborhood, her gigantic and scrumptious eggrolls, her luscious and second to no other German Chocolate Cake, her divine melt in your mouth Million Dollar Christmas Fudge, and her abundant fruit cakes that the family enjoyed for months after the Christmas Holidays. Mrs. Hudson took joy in serving and making sure everyone had plenty to eat. She was the family’s Iron Chef Food Star!
Mrs. Hudson was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, in Little Rock. Mrs. Hudson’s work on earth is done and one can only imagine the reunion as she is now resting high on that mountain with her beloved husband.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Lakewood Health and Rehab in North Little Rock for the devoted care, love, and respect they bestowed upon Mrs. Hudson.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 9 a.m. officiated by Reverend Jeffery Hampton, at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, 4823 Woodlawn Drive, Little Rock. Reception will immediately follow. Interment will be at 1 p.m., at Lawrence Memorial Park, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by parents, one sister, two brothers, and her very special friend, Mike. –––––❖––––– DAVID “DAVE” EDWARD JONES, (76), went to be with the Lord on December 8th, 2018.
He was born on
February 20, 1942, in Columbus,
Ohio, to Thomas and Loretta Jones.
He spent his childhood in Ohio and Connecticut, and then attended the University of
Virginia. He married Arleen Faye Schroder and upon graduation joined the Air Force in 1965. He served four years and then moved to Jacksonville, Florida, to start a family and a career in sales. They had two sons, Christopher and Keith, and then work took them to Conroe, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia, where they had daughter, Heather. They were transferred to Orange Park where they lived for 33 years. Dave was an avid golfer and instilled a legacy of faith in Christ, hard work, and the value of family. After retiring, Dave and Arleen moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, to be near family and celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tom. He is survived by wife, Arleen; three children, Christopher, Keith, and Heather; and 10 grandchildren, Reagan, Maddock, Hillyer, Bowden, Evynn, Kailyn, Ryen, Macyn, Loryn, and Morgyn. Dave was a beloved son, faithful husband, committed father, and true friend.

––––– ––––– PIERRE CHARLES PAWLAK, 90, of Jacksonville, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on December 7, 2018. He was born August 10, 1928 in Montebello, California to John “Jack” and Esther Edith (Eggler) Pawlak. Pierre graduated from Montebello High School in 1946. While in high school, Pierre was active in music and many other student activities. He attended community college and began his banking career with Bank of America. Soon thereafter, he went into the United States Air Force, serving at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas where he met the love of his life for 66 years, Lurannah Modine Wilcox. They married October 10, 1952. Pierre was in the United States Air Force for 4 years. During his military service, he served as a Chaplain’s Assistant which included playing piano and organ and clerical duties for the Base Chaplain Commander. After an Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force, Pierre and Modine returned to Southern California with their firstborn daughter as he continued his banking career for the next three decades. During that time, he continued to be active in the banking industry, raising their four children and was also active at church, where he was assistant organist and other volunteer capacities. He and Modine served the congregation in many ways with the Sunday School program and Challengers adult social program.
He is survived by his wife, Modine of Jacksonville, Ark.; three daughters, Lynn, Deb, and Pam; and one son, Brian; and their spouses; and his sister, Yvonne Hughes; plus numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Ark. JESS “WOODY” WOODS, a caterer and clown, will long be remembered for serving a lot of good ole’ Arkansas food, to people from all over the world and bringing laughter to children and grownups alike for over 50 years.
He passed away December 10,
2018 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 94.
He is survived by his best friend, partner, right hand woman and wife, Bette Bright; children from his first marriage to Lyn Burdell: Robert “Bobby” Woods, Gail Kinnard (Randy) and Judy Johns (David); step-daughter, Amber Bright White (Johnny); grandson, Jason Johns; step-grandsons, Jacobs “Jake” Clemons and Charles “Rett” Clemons; sister, Betty Jo “BJ” Harvey; brother, Bob “Applewhite Minyard” Wood; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
