––––– ––––– GRADY JAMES BENSON JR., age 88, of Little Rock. He passed away February 9, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Survived by his wife of 65 years Sally Benson of Little Rock; a daughter: Marcy Wood of Little Rock; and a son: Jim (Sharon) of Fort Smith; four grandsons: Derrell Wood III (Amanda) of Rolland, Jake Wood of Little Rock, Michael Benson (Jessica) of Southaven, Miss., Jonathan Benson of Orlando, Fla.; and four great-grandchild­ren.

He was born August 21, 1930. In Pine Bluff Arkansas to Grady and Latishia Benson. Mr. Benson worked at Timex for 34 years as a production control manager. He was an avid fan of the Saint Louis Cardinals, the Dallas Cowboys and all things Razorback. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Ronnie Benson, and a son: John Benson.

11, 2019. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin, September 18,

1937 to Albert

O. Schneck and Appolonia Jones Schneck. She spent her childhood there and graduated from University of Wisconsin then received her Masters Degree in Social Work at Columbia University in New York.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Stewart H. Bill Burgin; her two nieces, Judy Wood Mintz of Chicago, IL and Betsy Wood (Tom) of Madison, WI; nephew, James S. Wood, also of Madison; a step-daughter Emily Burgin Roberts, and step-son John Burgin, PhD. of North Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Janis Schneck Wood.

Marguerite worked as a Social Worker in the inner city of St. Louis before coming to Little Rock where she served for many years as clinical director at Youth Home, Inc. In 1986 she worked as a social worker at Royal Air Force Upper Heyford Air base in Oxford, England, UK. Then, returning to Little Rock, she establishe­d her own practice as a psychother­apist. Her use of dream therapy and analysis in her practice and after her retirement was well recognized throughout the state and beyond. She led book studies and dream groups for many spiritual seekers over the years.

Second Presbyteri­an Church in Little Rock, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, was an important part of her life, having served many years there as an Elder, Sunday School Teacher, and choir member. After cremation, her funeral will be there on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 3 p.m. with a reception following at the church. A private burial will be at a later date at Cato Historic Church and Cemetery, Inc. at 14000 Frenchman Mountain Road, Sherwood, Ark. On Sunday, February 10, 2019, BEATRICE FERN LENTZ of Little Rock, widow of

Allen W. Lentz and mother of three children, passed away of congestive heart failure at the age of 92.

Fern was born on September

14, 1926 in Eau

Claire, Wis. The first in her large family to attend college, she received her BS degree in Labor Economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1950. While working in Madison after graduation, she met Allen W. Lentz and six months later flew alone to Bahrain to marry him on June 26, 1952. They began raising their family of three daughters in Saudi Arabia between 1952 and 1962. They then made Little Rock, Ark., their home and became active members of the First Christian Church. She was a statistici­an for the State of Arkansas.

Fern was a resolutely independen­t thinker, had an acerbic wit and an eclectic mix of hobbies and passions. Her sense of adventure began during her first five years growing up on her grandmothe­r’s farm near Eau Claire. She enjoyed the many travels she, Al, and her daughters made to Europe and the Middle East while living in Arabia. She also liked playing bridge, dining out, listening to alto saxophone jazz, shopping for fine clothes and jewelry, and later in life, gardening. She was especially keen on chocolate and truly enjoyed the friends she found at Shepherd’s Cove in Little Rock, especially Table N in the dining room.

Fern was preceded in death by her mother Elvina Ferguson, her father Conrad Anderson, her stepfather Earl Ferguson, and her husband of 42 years, Al. She is survived by three daughters: Deborah Lavender of New Orleans, Roberta/Becky Lentz of Montreal, Ginny Watson of Little Rock; three grandchild­ren: Will Lavender (Beth), Ben Lavender (Jacqui), Mallory Wyman (James); and four great-grandchild­ren: Roxana and Celeste Lavender, and Jackson and Davis Wyman; and several cousins.

The family would like to give special thanks to the caring staff of Arkansas Hospice, as well as three wonderful caregivers who loved her deeply in her last days, Kathy White, Glenda Dilbeck, and Angel Avant.

College of Optometry. He practiced Optometry in areas throughout Northeast Arkansas before settling in North Little Rock. Charles was a pianist, and loved listening to music and playing golf.

Rock, Ark., surrounded by her family. She was born August 28,

1952 in Stanton,

Tenn., to Mr. and

Mrs. William “Jelly” and Lazelle “Nookie” Taylor.

Blondell loved to spend time with her family. Like her mother she shared her love for cooking with her daughters with favorite recipes like fried chicken, BBQ ribs and pot roast. Her love for family is a living example of her favorite Bible Verse, 1 Corinthian­s 13:13, And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.

Upon graduating from Lester High School in Memphis, she attended and graduated from State Technical Institute at Memphis (Southwest Tennessee Community College). She joined the United States Air Force in April of 1975 and served her country with distinctio­n for over 20 years. While in the military she was assigned as an Administra­tive Technician at various Air Force installati­ons which included Chanute AFB, Illinois; Norton AFB, California; Millington Naval Base, Tennessee; and Little Rock AFB. In May of 1995 she retired; during her service she received Four Air Force Commendati­ons Medals, Five Air Force Good Conduct Medals, the Air Force Outstandin­g Unit Award and the National Defense Service Medal with a Bronze Star. After completing an honorable military career, Blondell worked with the Little Rock School District for over 20 years in the Math & Science Department.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Clarence “Bill” Thompson (Delores), William J. Taylor Jr. (Corine) and Larry D. Taylor (Shirley); and a very special Aunt, Annie Thompson Conner. Blondell leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters Adrienne Smith (Sylvester) and Veronica McKnight (Keith) all of North Little Rock; sisters, Betty Jean Taylor (Leroy) of Chicago, Beverly Davis of Memphis; a brother, James Wesley Currie of Memphis; granddaugh­ters, Camden Smith and Vanity

It was with a heavy heart and sadness that we mourn the loss of our loving sister, CYNTHIA ANN WETHERELL, age 59, of North Little Rock, who passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 from complicati­ons due to Alzheimer’s. She was a woman with many dreams and desires. Cynthia was born in 1959 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to parents Norval Douglas and Barbara Lee Ault. Her death was preceded by her parents and her husband, Richard Scot Wetherell, and her brother-in-law, Leonard (Bud) Arthur Beisner Jr. of North Little Rock, Ark.

Her husband, Scot, was in the U.S. Army and retired as a Command Sergeant Major with over 20 years’ service. Cindy was raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1977. Cindy’s long-time dream and desire was to become a registered nurse, so she enrolled in the three-year diploma program at the Idabelle Firestone School of Nursing in Akron, Ohio, and graduated in 1980 with her Nursing degree (RN). Cindy then stepped out of her comfort zone and decided to advance and take on another dream and desire of hers that was to move to San Antonio, Texas, right away after graduating from nursing school. After settling in San Antonio, Cindy began her journey in search of her nursing career and gained employment with Humana Hospital in San Antonio, whom she was employed by for over 18 years. Before retiring she took up her husband’s passion of bass fishing. With practice and training she was able to compete in many bass tournament­s. She was an active member of the Texas Associatio­n of Bass Clubs and the Alamo Bass Club in San Antonio, Texas.

She is survived by a brother, John A. Ault of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Elizabeth B. Beisner of North Little Rock; two nephews, John Stephen Kronnick and Jeffrey Douglas Kronnick, both of North Little Rock; one niece, Jennifer Lynnette Beisner of England; three great-nephews, Reilen Armani Beisner, Richie Amir Beisner, and Rayden Arthur Beisner, and one great-niece, Raissa Amaree Beisner, all of England.

Cindy will be transporte­d back to San Antonio, Texas and she will be buried at the National Veterans Cemetery at Fort Sam Houston with her deceased husband, Richard Scot Wetherell (CSM) Retired.
