Lampo leads Harding

Kellie Lampo of Harding University scored 39 points and had 12 rebounds in leading the Lady Bisons (18-6, 13-5 Great American Conference) to a 87-72 victory over Henderson State University (17-7, 12-6) in Searcy.

Lampo shot 136 of 25 from the floor and made 7 off 11 free throws while playing 39 minutes. Cheyenne Brown finished with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Kennedy Cooper had 12 points in the victory.

The Lady Bisons shot 33 of 59 (55.9 percent) from the floor, including 4 of 8 three-pointers and shot 17 of 26 free throws. They outrebound­ed Henderson State 48-35 and won despite committing 16 turnovers to Henderson State’s eight, but did outscore the Lady Reddies 18-7 in points off turnovers.

Pink Jones led Henderson State with 22 points and 4 rebounds. Blu Jones had 13 points and 3 rebounds, and Hailey Estes had 10 points and 7 rebounds.

In other games involving state Division II teams, Alvia Huell scored 18 points and had 4 rebounds to lead Ouachita Baptist University (7-17, 5-13) to a 63-59 victory over Southern Arkansas University in Arkadelphi­a. Madison Brittain added 15 points and 5 rebounds and Majia Gerstone had 13 points for the Lady Tigers.
