Mrs. IRIS ALLEN, (87), was born in the village of Fishburn, County Durham, England on May 20, 1932 and entered Heaven’s gates on June 16, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones while in hospital, under hospice care.
Iris was the 10th child of James William Wilkinson and Isabella Taylor, both of Fishburn. She was proudly British and called herself “a coal miner’s daughter” as her father mined coal for a living in the North of England. While Iris was a nursing student in England, she was introduced to an American Airman because they happened to share the same birth date of May 20th, 1932. John and Iris fell in love and married in 1954. As the military lifestyle moved them between countries, four children were born, two in the US and two in the UK.
Iris is proceeded in death by her husband John G. Allen Jr., her son James “Jimmy” Allen, and her granddaughter, Kimberly Renee Coley. She is survived by her children, John (Teresa) Allen of Jacksonville, Ark., Jane (Bill) Coley of Nairobi, Kenya, and Joanne (Joe) Carmical of Cabot, Ark. Her grandchildren, Jonathan, Amanda, Billy, Jennifer, Stephanie, Abigail, Jessica, Joe and their families, including 10 great-grandchildren.

Paris, Ark., he was a graduate of Lee Summit,
Mo. High School and UofA, Fayetteville, Ark.
Jim was retired from a career of sales and local business entrepreneur.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Edward and Beulah Mae Blanscet. He is survived by his son, Michael Blanscet (Jennifer) and daughter, Courtney Green; his brother Randy Blanscet (Teresa); two sisters, Cheryl Blanscet and Brenda Countryman (Tom) along with four grandchildren (Caroline, Julia, Tyler and Lauren) and many nieces and nephews with all of whom he loved to laugh and joke around.

––––– ––––– RALPH ALLEN FINNEY, 87, of Little Rock concluded a life of faith and love on June 15, 2019.
Ralph was born February 21,
1932 in Warren, Arkansas to Bess and Paul Finney.
He moved with his family to Little Rock when he was 16.
Ralph attended UALR where he was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He was employed by AFCO Steel for 40 years and finished the last six years of his career at AFCO Metals (Ryerson Steel). He was active many years in the Little Rock Founders Lions Club where he served as Vice President. He was an ordained Elder and a Deacon at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church.
Ralph was an avid tennis player. He played on numerous USTA teams through the years that went to many regional and sectional tournaments. He played on three teams that went to Nationals, the third being the team that won the Senior National Championship in 1999.
He and his wife, Angela loved to travel. Their favorite places being Hawaii and New England. Most of all he was a man devoted to his family. They were first and foremost in his life. He participated in all activities of his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Thomas G. Finney and a beloved grandson, Matthew Baehr. He is survived by Angela, his wife of 67 years and the love of his life. He is also survived by children, Paula Clark, Laurie Baehr and Allen Finney (Kristie); grandchildren, Chris Baehr (Lucy), Alex Clark, Trey Finney, Ashley Finney; and great- grandchildren, Cole and Harper Baehr.
Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church, 6400 Kavanaugh. Shirley worked for the State of Arkansas for 28 years.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, James Maxiell; children, Caberta Bates (Leonard), Shaunta Brown (Timothy), William Arthur Belmont, III, and Patricia Maxiell; grandchildren, Timothy Brown, Jr., William Arthur Belmont, IV, Stephani Belmont, Jason Maxiell, I; great-grandchild, Jason Maxiell, II; siblings, Juanita Hodges, Gloria Mays, and Leodis Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. ––––– ––––– NANCY IRVING SMITH, age 89, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away on June 13, 2019.
She was born on
April 16, 1930 in Morrilton to the late James Forsyth and Nanny
May Irving. She was preceded in death by her siblings James
Forsyth Jr., William Irving, Mary Elizabeth Davis, Tom Irving, and John Crockett Irving, and nephew Bill Davis.
She graduated from Arkansas Teacher’s College (now UCA) and received a graduate degree in Christian Education. She began her career as a high school teacher, then worked as a receptionist for American Airlines. A devout Presbyterian, she studied and led Christian Education in churches in Virginia, Texas, and Arkansas. She served as Presbytery Coordinator for Christian Education in Arkansas for 25 years, and she taught for many years at the Montreat Center in North Carolina.
Nancy loved the arts, both visual and performing. She was an accomplished pianist, and loved singing in and traveling with the choir at Second Presbyterian Church. She also enjoyed graphic and watercolor mediums. In May of 2019 she donated many of her works to the non-profit Praeclara. She was an active member of Second Presbyterian, serving as an Elder, Pastoral Care, Prayer Shawl group, and Presbyterian Women.
She is survived by nephews Mike Davis of Pine Top, Ariz., James Forsyth Irving III of Heber Springs, Ark., and nieces Betty Martin of Fayetteville, Ark., Marietta Smith of Little Rock, Ark., and Terri Gruber of Pittsburgh, Pa. She loved the Irving clan, and she leaves many great, and great-great-nieces and nephews as well.
The family would like to thank the staff of Home Instead and Hospice Home Care for their compassionate and skillful care.
There will be a celebration of her life on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church.
