Ulthera Vs Smartlift

-

Q.

I’m trying to decide which procedure I would be better suited for regarding my face.

A.

A good candidate for Ulthera is someone with some degree of laxity, to the point of looking, and often feeling, less firm. Loose skin under the neck and under the chin, or line and wrinkles on the chest, are signals a patient might be a candidate. Typically, those in their 30s and older who have mild to moderate skin laxity are candidates. Ulthera is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses focused ultrasound to stimulate the formation of new collagen deep below the skin’s surface. The production of new collagen takes time, so results can become more apparent over two to three months, even up to six months. The procedure takes about 1-3 hours, depending on the area treated, and there is no downtime afterward. It also is the only procedure to use ultrasound imaging, which allows practitioners to see the layers of tissue targeted during the treatment and ensure the energy is deposited precisely to where it will be most beneficial! While Ulthera is not a replacement for surgical Smartlift, there are many people who want some facial tightening but are not ready for surgery, whether mentally, physically or financially. There are also a lot of younger people today who want to “stay ahead of the game,” as well as patients wanting an aesthetic maintenance option. Your results can last up to two years and for some, beyond this length.

A good candidate for the Smartlift (lower face and neck lift) is when you exhibit signs of moderate aging with possible folds and/or wrinkles of the neck and hanging jowls that obstruct the natural jaw line. The Smartlift involves making incisions, tightening muscles and lifting the skin in just the right areas for you. Also, if there is any fat in the neck and jowl areas, it is removed during the Smartlift procedure by liposuction through a tiny incision made under the chin. This enhances your results even more by making the neck and jowl area smoother and more refined. Incisions are well hidden in the hairline and ear areas, so detection is very minimal. Most patients seldom complain of discomfort with this procedure and are extremely pleased with their beautiful new look! Downtime is 7-10 days. Your results can last up to 10 years and for some patients, beyond this length. Call to schedule your personal consultation to learn which procedure is right for YOU.
