Historic Games and Outside Fun POCAHONTAS — Davidsonville Historic State Park, 7953 Arkansas 166 S., will present Historic Games and Outside Fun from 9-11 a.m. on the Visitor Center Porch. ASU-Beebe Vanguard Discovery Camps BEEBE — Vanguard Discovery Camps at Arkansas State University-Beebe, for students entering the fourth through eighth grades, offer hands-on, engaging courses in science, engineering, technology and math (STEM) fields. On the Beebe campus, Monday through Friday, will be 3-D Printing: Makers Lab, 8 a.m. to noon; and Black Rocket: eSports Apprentice YouTube Streamers & Gamers, 1-5 p.m. On July 15-19 will be Advanced Drone Technologies and Lego Advanced Robotics, 8 a.m. to noon; and Black Rocket: Battle Royale Make Your First Fortnite-style Video Game, 1-5 p.m. Students can attend half- or full-day sessions. Herb Medicine Used in the Civil War ASH FLAT — Ozarka College in Ash Flat will host a Local Herb-Medicine Used in the Civil War continuing-education course from 5-6 p.m. The class, taught by Robin Moore, a certified community herbalist, will teach students about local healing plants, gardening and the Civil War. Spring River Gem and Mineral Club Meeting CHEROKEE VILLAGE — The Spring River Gem and Mineral Club will meet at 10 a.m. at the Omaha Center. R.W. “Dub” Lyerly, an amateur archaeologist from Jonesboro, will present the program, Selection of Stones That Indians Used to Make Tools, and bring a display of stones and tools. Attendees are invited to bring in artifacts, and Lyerly will identify and answer questions about them. The program is free, and visitors are welcome. Melissa Wilkinson Exhibit BATESVILLE — The Batesville Area Arts Council presents The Other Side of Nothing: Works by Melissa Wilkinson through July 27 at the BAAC Gallery on Main, 226 E. Main St. The exhibit features a series of watercolor paintings relating to the artist’s interest in dichotomies. Wilkinson is an associate professor of art and painting at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
Ash Flat Senior Center Activities ASH FLAT — The Ash Flat Senior Life Center invites residents of Ash Flat and surrounding areas to the following weekly events: bingo from 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays; card games, board games and painting from 9-10:30 a.m. Thursdays; and exercise classes from 10-10:30 a.m. Thursdays.
