NLR debuts its new online visitors guide

-

A new North Little Rock guide for visitors debuted online Friday to help provide event and site information, as well as directions around town.

The guide was released on the Convention and Visitors Bureau’s website along with an integrated mobile app, the bureau announced.

Information is available by either visiting the Convention and Visitors Bureau’s website, northlittlerock.org, and clicking on the “Plan Your Visit” icon, or on the new mobile app for cellphones, which is available free through the App Store and Google Play under “Explore North Little Rock.”

“It’s no longer the exception, but expected, that tourism organizations be mobile-friendly,” said Stephanie Slagle, director of marketing for the Convention and Visitors Bureau, in a news release announcing the additions. “About 60% of the people who visit our website do so from a mobile device, with another 5% on tablet.

“The app and planning widget offer more options for those that are always on-thego and visitors that are looking for ways to enjoy our city.”

Designed by Visit Widget, the planning tool provides a new way to explore what North Little Rock has to offer, including events, restaurants and points of interest, the news release said. Visitors can search by categories such as “Arts and Culture,” “Dog Friendly,” “Plan the Best Route” and “Nightlife.”

If users want to provide their locations, they will be able to see nearby restaurants or attractions. Users also can create itineraries and share with others through email, social media and text messaging.
