ELIZABETH ANN (BUSBEA) BAKER departed from this world far too early on Sunday, August 4, 2019. She was born on February 24, 1977 to Phillip Michael Busbea and Pamela Ann (Myklebust) Busbea in Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, A.W. Busbea, and her maternal grandparents, Charles Robert Myklebust and Shirley Jean (Butler) Myklebust. She is survived by the love of her life, Brian Keliher Baker; her adoring grandmother Mamie Irene (Winfrey) Busbea; her wonderful parents; her loving step-mother, Patricia Ann (Riggs) Busbea; her fabulous sister (and author of this obituary) Michelle Diane (Busbea) Tyree and her husband Christopher; her sweet step-brother Brian Edward Welch and his wife Susanne; her talented step-sister Latisha Jane (Welch) Daniel and her husband Jason; and her nieces and nephews, which were the apples of her eye, Hailey, Mary Addison, and Hudson Daniel, Jackson Tyree, and Kyle Baker. She also had a slew of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues.

Elizabeth was lucky to have married into an exceptional family and they accepted her into their loving arms immediately. She graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in 1995 (Go Bears!) and helped to organize her 20 year high school reunion. She enjoyed a long career in banking and had been employed as a Trust Operations Administrator by Simmons Bank for almost 20 years. She was most well known for her love of the color purple and her exuberance and devotion to all things Disney. We envision that her first conversation in heaven was with her family and Walt. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church and a loyal player in the Faith Ringers. She loved painting with friends and while she was not outdoorsy, she loved a good float trip to a river with friends. Her sudden absence has been felt by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her and hearing her infectious laugh.

Visitation will be at the First United Methodist Church, 6701 JFK Blvd, North Little Rock, on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 1 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society, as she was a 20 year survivor from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. The link is https://bit.ly/2OZHJ3H. You can also join her Light the Night team for the walk scheduled on October 5, 2019. Her team name is Bound and Determined at https://bit. ly/2yHVL44.

She was such a loving person and had the biggest heart of anyone we knew. She will be greatly missed.

She welcomed the opportunity to host family and friends and prepare her signature spaghetti for dinner and melt-in-your-mouth fudge for dessert, unless, of course, it was raining outside and then it was “spoon fudge.”

Even in her later years, as her eyes couldn’t see as far down the road and her knees couldn’t carry her quite as far, her love of her grandchildren never failed. SUSAN THELL YOUNG-LARZELERE, 77, passed away peacefully in Little Rock on August 2, 2019, from Alzheimer’s complications. Sue was born February 14, 1942, in Searcy, Arkansas. The youngest daughter of T.H. and Norma Young, it seemed no accident that Sue was born on Valentine’s Day, for she embraced life and celebration in so many ways. Her early years were full of love and laughter, adventuring with her two sisters, Ann Ekman (deceased) and Kay Wright Davis (of Fayetteville), taking ballet classes, and even surviving a tornado.

After graduating high school, Sue moved to California and worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines for almost a decade. She loved traveling and exploring the world, but home, family, and friends were never far from her mind. Sue moved back to Little Rock in the early ‘70s and married H.T. Larzelere Jr. (Trip), with whom she raised two amazing sons, H.T. Larzelere III (Tripler) and Thomas Alexander Larzelere (Alex). Sue built a strong circle of friends in the Little Rock area through hostessing and serving the community; she devoted much of her time to the Arkansas chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Sue and Trip remained close as parents, grandparents, and friends the rest of her life.

Jonesboro was Sue’s home for the latter part of her life, and her natural gifts for hospitality were significant in the success of a number of restaurant ventures with her second husband (now divorced), William Hurt, Jr. As the daughter of a well-known food talent, Norma Young, Sue knew good food! She also had an eye for and appreciation of beautiful things, never met a person she couldn’t charm, and never saw a baby she didn’t want to hold.

The last chapter of Sue’s life was spent back in Little Rock, enjoying the vibrant downtown culture and being doted on by her two favorite men, her sons Alex and Tripler.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, T.H. and Norma Young, her sister, Ann Ekman, and her nephew, Kevin Ekman. She is survived by a loving family: sons, Alex Larzelere, Tripler Larzelere and daughter-in-law, Sarah Larzelere; grandchildren, Charlotte Larzelere, H.T. Larzelere IV (Henry) and Emily Larzelere; sister, Kay Wright Davis; nieces and nephews, Tom Ekman, Robert Wright, Leah Tucker and nephew-in-law, Sterling Tucker; great-nieces and great-nephews, Diana Ekman, Tres Tucker, Kathryn Tucker, Ray Elizabeth Wright and Elaina Wright.

A service of celebration and remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2019, at St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. Memorials may be made in Sue’s name to Alzheimer’s Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205 or St. James United Methodist Church, 321 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72212.
