How to read stocks tables

The stocks in this section are a consolidat­ed list of last week’s most active stocks — 2,000 from the New York Stock Exchange, 2,000 from Nasdaq and 200 from the American Stock Exchange.

Names in bold are companies with Arkansas operations.

Today’s list shows:

1. 52-week high and low — The highest and lowest price at which the stock traded in the past year.

2. Name — The name of the company, using an abbreviati­on by The Associated Press.

3. Dividend — Usually annual payments based on the last quarterly or semiannual declaratio­n.

4. Yield — Percentage return from a dividend based on the stock’s closing price.

5. Close — Week’s last price per share.

6. Weekly Change — Change in price from the week before.

p — Initial dividend; annual rate not known; yield not shown.

pf — Preferred.

pp — Holder owes installmen­t(s) of purchase price.

r — Declared or paid in preceding 12 months plus stock dividend.

rt — Rights.

s — Split or stock dividend of 20 percent or more in the past 52 weeks.

t — Paid in stock in preceding 12 months, estimated cash value on ex-dividend or ex-distributi­on date.

u — Reached new 52-week high during trading day.

un — Units.

v — Trading halted on primary market.

vj — In bankruptcy or receiversh­ip or being reorganize­d under the Bankruptcy Act, or securities assumed by such companies.

wd — When distribute­d.

wi — When issued.

wt — Warrants.

ww — With warrants.

x — Ex-dividend or ex-rights.

xw — Without warrants.

y — Ex-dividend and sales in full.

z — Sales in full.
