DORIS JEAN TAYLOR BELL lived a life of service, in her home, in her church, and in her career.

She had a special passion for helping children and adults who needed an extra lift.

Doris was born on January 20, 1936. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carter Bell, father Andrew Taylor, parents Rev. and Mrs. Nelson C. Thomas, and brother Earl Johnson. She expressed her hope and faith and Christ at an early age at Arch Street Baptist Church (Greater Archview Baptist Church). She served in many ministries as a child and adult. In the early years, she was active in Sunday School and various activities for young people. Later, as an adult she was active as a member and leader in the Missionary Society, Progressiv­e Club and the Children’s Sunday School Department.

Doris was a product of Little Rock Public Schools and she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff. She also later pursued graduate studies to enhance her skills as she moved into leadership positions in her career. After completing her education, she married Carter Bell, June 20, 1958. They built a home and life centered on God and service to family and neighbors. They gave birth to two sons, James and Kenneth.

In her career, Doris Bell “bore the weaknesses of those without strength” by teaching at Ricky Lou’s Nursery and Kindergart­en, serving in childcare facilities and community programs of the Economic Opportunit­y Agency, and serving as director of childcare programs through Methodist Children’s Home, including a center at Greater Archview Baptist Church. She spent more than 30 years serving in leadership at Goodwill Industries of Arkansas, where she retired as Director of Human Relations.

For many years, Doris Bell served as a motivation­al speaker, speaking throughout the state of Arkansas, often for Missionary Society and Women’s Day programs at churches. She continued her spiritual developmen­t at New Hope Baptist Church, serving in the Missionary Society and Sunday School. In her later years, she joined St. Peter’s Rock Baptist Church, where she served in various capacities, including as Sunday School teacher and Missionary Society president.

Doris Jean Bell went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2019. She leaves to cherish her memory sons, James and Kenneth Bell; grandsons, Terrance Thomas and Walter Powell; mother of her grandsons, Paulette Bell; great-grandchild­ren, Ishmael Thomas, Rubin Thomas, and Kendrell Powell; cousins Rosetta Klyce, of Chicago, IL and Lawrence Thomas, who she grew up with as siblings; nieces, Carolyn Foreman (Ronnie) and Beverly Chinn (Barry) of Garland, Texas; nephew, Gregory Johnson; brothers-in-law, Fred Bell and Ronnie Bell (Sylvia) of Kankakee, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Windfield and Sandra Sowell (Robert) of Kankakee, Ill., and Marbalene Armstrong; very dear friends, John Larry Taylor and Johnnie Taylor, Carol Taylor, and Doris Berry, as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

CARL EDWARD CARROLL, age 57, of Sherwood departed this life on Saturday, August 10. He was born January 26, 1962 to the late Eugene and Wilma Carroll. Carl was a graduate of North Little Rock Ole Main Class of 1980. After High School he joined the U.S. Army and served for 3 years. On November 26, 1989, Carl married Vickie Gibson and to this union one child was born. Prior to becoming unable to work due to a back injury and other health issues, Carl worked in the manufactur­ing industry for over 30 years.

Carl leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 29 years, Vickie Machelle Carroll; one daughter, Vicktoriea Chamelle (Caleb) Warren of Sunnyvale, California; two sisters: Donna Kutuma of Fort Worth, Texas and Sandra Murphy of North Little Rock; three brothers: Johnny Ray Ford of California, Phillip Ford of Lonoke, and Aaron Gray of Little Rock; four nieces: Antoinette Dodson and Monica Marshall both of North Little Rock, Ebony Marshall of Rockingham, North Carolina, Donnesha Williams of Fort Worth, Texas and Deja Carroll of Little Rock; five nephews: Brandon Pickens and Braylon Carroll of Fort Worth, Texas, Dennis Carroll Jr., Cameron Carroll and Dennin Carroll all of North Little Rock; along with a host of other family and friends.

Family hour will be Friday, August 16th 6 p.m. at 8th Street Missionary Baptist Church, 901 Scipio Jones Drive, North Little Rock, Ark. Sister Mary Alice of the Blessed Sacrament (MARY ALICE GRACE) 99, a Discalced Carmelite nun of the Carmel of St. Teresa of Jesus in Little Rock, entered into eternal life on August 14, 2019. She was born on July 26, 1920 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvan­ia to Eugene and Eleanor (Albright) Grace. She entered Carmel on Dec 21, 1950 after 13 years as a Sister of St. Francis. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 16th at the Carmelite Monastery Chapel with Vigil and Rosary on Friday, August 16th at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, August 17th at 9:30 a.m. at the Carmelite Monastery Chapel, 7201 West 32nd Street, Little Rock, Ark. PEGGY J. HASKINS, 79, of Little Rock, Ark, formerly of Pulaski, N.Y., passed from this life in the early hours of August 11, 2019 after a long illness. She was born in Elko, Nev. on October 9th, 1939 to Frank and Verne Strange. She was an avid quilter that spent much of her time making handmade quilts for those that needed them. She donated her time and energy to Romans 1:16 Ministries, as well as caring for her cats. She donated quilts to a number of organizati­ons, including From His Throne Ministries as well as Jericho Way.

Peggy worked a variety of jobs throughout her life. She was known to many as the “Toy Lady” at Ames Department Store in Pulaski, N.Y. for a number of years. After that, she could be found

at the Byrne Dairy store, also in Pulaski. In 2009, she moved to Little Rock to live with her son, Brian, and his wife Donna.

Peggy is predecease­d by her parents and her husband, Howard R. “Pete” Haskins. She is survived by her children Kemi Andersen, Kobi (Elsa) Spencer, Debbie Cameron Loi, Brian (Donna) Haskins, and many grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren.

PATRICIA ANNE “PAT” LOVE, age 87, of North Little Rock, passed away August 15, 2019. She was born August 7, 1932, in Little Rock, to Pete and Lillie Milner Hardin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob G. Love, daughter Barbara Love Causey, and sister, Clara Hester Hardin.

Pat attended the Little Rock Public Schools. She was a charter member of Pike Avenue Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Pat worked as a dietary specialist for the North Little Rock School District, Pulaski County Special School District, Baptist Health Parkway Village and Lakewood Plaza Nursing Home before retiring in 1997.

She is survived by two daughters, Paula Heater (Eddie) of El Paso, Arkansas and Nita Faulkner (Robert) of North Little Rock; sister, Kay Forbes of Sherwood; brother, David Bassham (Karen) of Texas; eight grandchild­ren, Jill Causey Edwards, Ben Causey, Jacob Causey, Beth Heater Williams, Melanie Lamb, Rush Faulkner, Jessica Faulkner Knutson, and Robert R. Faulkner Jr.; 17 great-grandchild­ren and two great-great-grandchild­ren.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Fox Ridge Assisted Living Facility in North Little Rock for the care their mother received while there and to Greystone Nursing and Rehab in Cabot for the exceptiona­l care she received for the last 2 years.

RAYMOND EARL OSBORN, 84, passed into his Savior’s arms on August 13, 2019. He was the middle child of Everett and Carrie Osborn of Fayettevil­le, Arkansas. Raymond graduated from Fayettevil­le High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother, Carl Osborn. He is survived by his wife Maxine Lierly Osborn, to whom he was married for 64 years; two children, Ramona Geurin (Steve), and Ray Osborn (Dana); grandchild­ren Scott Geurin (Laura), Katie Steiner (Thomas), Taylor Geurin (Katie), Luke Osborn, and Jameson Keeton; great-grandchild­ren, Scottie and Rileigh Geurin; and a sister, Wanda Tackett.

Raymond began working for Southern Farmers Associatio­n in the Fayettevil­le Field Office in 1954, and transferre­d to Little Rock with SFA in 1963, later serving as Vice President of SFA over Seed and Chemicals for Arkansas. He worked with SFA for over 30 years, and ended his career as a sales representa­tive for Missouri Farmers Associatio­n.

He served on the Universal Cooperativ­es Board, and was president of both the Arkansas Plant Food Board and the Arkansas Agricultur­al Pesticide Associatio­n. Through his position at SFA, Raymond earned several reward trips which sparked his love for travel. Raymond and Maxine traveled the world for over 40 years, visiting six of the seven continents. His favorite trips, though, were the ones that included his family: to the beach, to the mountains, on cruises, to Disney World, to Branson at Christmas, and to Lake Hamilton for the Fourth of July.

Raymond was a devoted Christian, accepting Christ at the age of 20. He was a faithful member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church of Little Rock, where he served as deacon and trustee. He taught Sunday School, traveled with youth, served on various committees, and chaired the Mission Committee for many years. He was especially committed to spreading the gospel in Yokohama, Japan, and Mexico City, Mexico. Raymond was a true servant leader.

A memorial service celebratin­g Raymond’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Unity Missionary Baptist Church, 1223 Garfield Drive, Little Rock. WILLIAM S. “BILL” ROGERS of Little Rock passed away August 15, 2019. He was born October 5, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late William and Myrtle Rogers. Bill was a devoted Christian who served in the United States Air Force Reserves and was a member of Geyer Springs Baptist Church. He was also a leader in the business technology industry having owned and operated several businesses.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Becky Lovan Rogers; sons and daughters-in-law: Brett and Shelly Rogers, Byron and Shelley Rogers and Bryce Rogers; grandchild­ren Carson, Callie, Foster and Jake Rogers; and a sister, Marianna Robertson. Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Francis McNally.

A Celebratio­n of Life Service will begin at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church in Little Rock. A visitation reception will follow the service. TINA R. WALLACE, 52, was born December 27, 1966 and passed August 9, 2019 at the age of 52. She was a loving mother and daughter that brought incredible joy to the people around her. JACOB SAMUEL WOOLLEY, age 25, of North Little Rock, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. He was born on November 25, 1993 in Ascot, England, to William Corey and Kay Amanda Young Woolley. Jacob was an Eagle Scout, which is the highest ranking in the Boy Scouts of America. Jacob was a 2012 graduate of Woodlawn High School. After his high school graduation, he went on to attend the University of Arkansas at Monticello where he received his associate degree. In 2017 he completed his studies at Jefferson Regional Medical Center School of Nursing earning his registered nursing degree. Jacob was a member of Prosperity United Methodist Church. If someone was to describe Jacob, they would say he was fun-loving, had the most tender heart, funny and so generous. He loved being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing and hiking. Jacob enjoyed playing his guitar and was a Be The Match donor. He also held a blue belt from White Hall Martial Arts Academy. Jacob will always be remembered as a loving son and brother.
