ROSEMARY MUNDINE COLLINS was born on July 10, 1923 in Temple, Texas. Rosemary departed this life on August 16, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings & her 3 eldest sons Larry, Roddy & Ronald Collins.

Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Donna Rose Collins-Eagles, sons Ricky Earl Collins Sr., and Clarence Edward Collins III, all of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Gary Elmer Collins of Ventura, California. After the passing of their parents, she raised her grandchild­ren LaTrice Collins-Kelley, Antyonne Collins Sr., and Roddy Collins, Jr.

Family hour Thursday August 22, 2019 from 6 til 7 p.m. and funeral services Friday August 23, 10 a.m. with both services at St. Mark Baptist Church 5722 W. 12th St. Services entrusted to Premier Funeral Home, 1518 S. Battery St., Little Rock, Ark.

JO ELLA CRUSE, age 93, of Sherwood, died Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at the Colonel Glenn Hospice Care Center in Little Rock. Born in Leachville to the late Archer Fletcher and Anna Grace Cook Pierce, she graduated from Leachville High School and later the University of Central Arkansas. She was the widow of William D. Cruse, Jr. and they both taught school in the Leachville School District until Bill began working for Cotton Belt Railroad. They moved with his job to San Francisco, Fresno, Texarkana, and then to Sherwood, Arkansas, where Jo Ella lived the remainder of her life. A lifelong Methodist, she began teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir at age 15. A longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock, she was active for many years with the United Methodist Women and founded “Faith N Action,” one of the United Methodist Women’s most active programs. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter AC in Leachville and received her 60 year pin in 2010. Jo Ella was a charter member of Chapter O in Fresno, California and was active in Chapter V of Texarkana and Chapter X in Sherwood.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, T.J. Pierce and his wife Winnie, and one sister, Betty Ruth Pierce. Survivors include; one niece, JoAnnis Pierce of Little Rock; one nephew, Dr. Trent Pierce and his wife, Melissa of West Memphis, Ark. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Julia Smith of Baton Rouge, La. and her sons, J. Michael Smith of Atlanta and Joey Smith of Louisiana. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock with Rev. Lynn Kilbourne officiatin­g. Graveside service will follow in the Leachville Cemetery at 4 p.m. The family will receive visitors Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. The family prefers any memorials be made to the Jo Ella Cruse Women’s Circle at the First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock or the Educationa­l Fund of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. ALEX PALENCIA, 48, died August 14, 2019 in Miami, Florida. He was born in Cuba and worked in Florida as an insurance agent.

He is survived by his children, Alice Palencia and Alexander Palencia, both of Little Rock and Isai Arturo Gonzales of Nebraska; mother, Alicia Serrano in Cuba; aunt, Bertha Serrano of Little Rock; siblings, Oris Palencia, Pedro Palencia and Yohima Palencia, all in Cuba; his former wife, Iris Kennedy (Scott) of Little Rock; and a host of other family and friends. He was predecease­d by his father, Pedro Palencia Laurencio.

JUANITA IRENE LOVELACE STEWART was born November 25, 1951 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Willie C. Lovelace Sr. and Rosetta Henson Lovelace. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, August 15, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie C. Lovelace Sr. and Rosetta Henson Lovelace; brothers, Willie C. Lovelace Jr., Ray Thatis Lovelace and Billy Joe Lovelace.
