Movies at MacArthur
The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History in MacArthur Park, 503 E. Ninth St., Little Rock, will screen the documentary Brats: Our Journey Home, in which military “brats” share childhood memories and featuring songs by Kris Kristofferson, 6:30 p.m. today. Poetry workshop
Poets Stacey McAdoo and TJ Medel will be the instructors for a Poetry Out Loud workshop, for high school students interested in competing in the national Poetry Out Loud recitation competition, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Feb. 1 at the Arkansas Heritage building, 1100 North St., Little Rock.
The workshop, designed to provide hands-on experience in understanding and performing poetry, will cover three categories: “Evidence of Understanding,” “Voice and Articulation” and “Dramatic Appropriateness.”
Participants are asked to bring along a poem that has been approved by Poetry Out Loud for competition. Winners of competitions at individual schools will compete at the state-level event March 14, at the Ron Robinson Theater in Little Rock. The Arkansas champion heads to the finals April 27-29 in Washington for a chance to win $20,000.

Artspace report
Artspace, a nonprofit organization that creates inexpensive places where artists can live and work, releases the results of its Arts Market Study for Little Rock and North Little Rock artists and arts organizations with entertainment, food and beverages, 5-7 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, 501 W. Ninth St., Little Rock. The meeting starts at 6. Admission is free.
The survey, taken in the fall of 2019, drew more than 800 responses. The report will detail the community’s specific needs in terms of space and amenities, affordability and location preferences for multiuse, inexpensive and sustainable facilities for artists and arts organizations.
