Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Purely political stunt

-

I know Mr. David Cockcroft was baffled about Brenda Looper’s solicitation of letters from the right. He thinks people on the right are too busy complaining how far left the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is and he thinks anyone from Trump’s base cannot turn off Fox News long enough to write a letter.

It was difficult, Mr. Cockcroft, but I just broke away from Fox News long enough to write this letter.

Us deplorable cult members don’t write many letters because we are bemused at all the left-leaning letters spewing hatred about President Trump, straight out of CNN and MSNBC. I know we are thought of as dumb and uneducated, but most of my friends are professionals—including doctors and lawyers.

I do agree with Mr. Cockcroft in that he does not believe President Trump should be kicked out of office—that perhaps a censure would have been enough. I believe in no way was his phone call an impeachable offense. Perhaps a censure in the House would have been appropriate. But no, Pelosi had to thrill herself. Handing out souvenir pens and going on Bill Maher’s HBO show and fist-bumping him and saying Trump is impeached forever. Instead we are now being exposed to hours and hours of repetitive speeches about what Trump did.

Think about it—535 senators and congressman in Washington are on impeachment shutdown. Doing nothing about the people’s business. All of this when they know very well he will not be removed from office. It is purely a political stunt aimed at vulnerable senators in this year’s election. RUSS BAILEY
