A Memorial Service for WELDON DAVIS,

93, of North Little Rock, who passed away on December 17, 2019, will be held Saturday, February 8th, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501-7917400.) Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Private burial at Rest Hills will follow.

Weldon was born in Mount Vernon, Arkansas, on November 29, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Charlotte Davis, and his wife of 63 years, Louise. He is survived by his three sons: Ben Davis (Linda) of Nashville, Tennessee, Lynn Davis of Little Rock, Tommy Davis (Jan) of Little Rock; seven grandchild­ren: Emily Hirzel (Brandon), Aaron Davis (Natalya), Blake Davis; Ellen Wills (Brad), Alison Vigneault (Matt), William Davis (Regan) and Gracie Davis. He is also survived by his beloved great-grandchild­ren India, Jackson, Alexander, Ida Jane, Skylar, Elliott, and Nicholas.

After graduating from Mount Vernon high school in 1944, he attended college at Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway. He later attended the University of Arkansas Law School, from which he received his law degree in 1964. He began his career at Arkansas Farm Bureau Insurance Company in 1954 and held several senior administra­tive positions throughout his career and until his retirement in 1990. He is remembered at Farm Bureau as a compassion­ate and clear-thinking leader. During those years he always managed to attend his sons’ many sports and academic events, and supported his three sons as they graduated from private universiti­es as well as medical and pharmacy colleges. All the while, he maintained a 640-acre active cattle farm in Mount Vernon, Ark. He is remembered as a man of character, honesty, directness, integrity, and fairness. He has touched many lives and served as a mentor to several generation­s of young men and women and will be missed by many people of all ages and vocations.

The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice Care for their care and understand­ing. A very special thanks to Sandie Kiser and Devin Mathes for their excellent loving care.
