FRIDAY Abstract art
“Battlefields,” an exhibition of abstract paintings, drawings and other mixed media works, including screenprints, by Bryan Frazier go on display with a 6:30-9 p.m. reception Friday at Thea Foundation, 401 Main St., North Little Rock. It’s the January feature of the foundation’s quarterly Art Department.
The $20 admission includes heavy hors d’oeuvres by co-sponsor Heritage Catering, an open beer-and-wine bar and the chance to win free tickets to the foundation’s next Art Department event. Patrons must be at least 21 (and be prepared to show identification). Additional sponsors are Mountain Valley Spring Water and Lost Forty.

UALR photos
An exhibit of photographs by University of Arkansas at Little Rock faculty member Joli Livaudais and her students will be on display during a 2nd Friday Art Night reception, 5-8 p.m. Friday at the UALR Downtown Center, at 333 President Clinton Ave., in Little Rock’s River Market. Sandwiching in History
The Quaker Meeting House, 3415 W. Markham St., Little Rock, will be the location for the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program’s 2020 Sandwiching in History tour, noon Friday. Theatrical Daggers
Actor/writer/educator Jess Prichard is developing his play Speak Daggers while in residence through Sunday at the University of Central Arkansas, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway, under the auspices of the Arkansas Shakespeare

Remnants of Rock

March premieres
The Delta Symphony Orchestra and conductor Neale Bartee will perform the world premiere of Billy Madison’s orchestration of The President’s Emancipation March by George E. Regrets and Race
The Weekend Theater, 1001 W. Seventh St., Little Rock, will hold auditions at 10 a.m. Feb. 15 and at 6 p.m. Feb. 16 for two plays: Paul Rudnick’s Regrets Only, a social comedy, and Race by David Mamet, “a tale of sex, guilt and bold accusations.” Auditions will consist of cold readings from the scripts. Justin A. Pike is directing Regrets Only; rehearsals start March 21 and production dates are April 24May 3.
