THURSDAY

■ The Center for Arkansas Legal Services is partnering with the city of Pine Bluff, the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs, the Little Rock VA Medical Center’s Justice Outreach program and local pro bono attorneys to host a monthly veterans legal clinic in Pine Bluff on the second Thursday of each month.

The clinic seeks to help low-income veterans by offering free consultati­ons in a variety of civil legal areas, including family law and consumer protection law; landlord-tenant and public benefits matters; and criminal record sealing.

The clinic’s ceremonial grand opening will be at 8 a.m. at the Pine Bluff First Assembly Life Center-West Campus at 3206 S. Hazel St. Attorneys can begin seeing veterans at 9 a.m. Walk-ins are welcome.

FRIDAY

■ State of the City address by Pine Bluff Mayor Shirley Washington begins at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Pine Bluff Convention Center, at 1 Convention Center Plaza, in Pine Bluff. The public can attend.

■ The Sahara Shriners present the Andrews Sisters Dinner and Show at the Sahara Shrine Center, at 820 S. Main St., in Pine Bluff. Doors will open at 6 p.m., dinner is from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $30 per person. SATURDAY

■ A grand opening celebratio­n of the Altheimer Branch Library will be at 222 S. Edline in Altheimer from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The public is invited.

■ The 26th annual Mardi Gras Celebratio­n will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church in the St. Peter Family Life Center at 207 E. 16th Ave., in Pine Bluff. Admission is $20 per person. Ticket informatio­n is available from Jeanette Nelson at (870) 536-2192.

■ The Port City Blues Society presents Sounds of Blue, featuring live Delta Blues music, a Blues discussion, Blues jam session, artist meetand-greet, cigar-box guitar making and Blues history. The event is open to all ages, and admission is free. Performers include Marcus Mookie Cartwright, Carla Robinson and Bluesboy Jag. Sound of Blues will be at the Freedom and Blues Art Exhibit at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Business Support Incubator, 615 S. Main St., in Pine Bluff, from 1-5 p.m. Funded in part by a grant from Synergy Forum.
