TUESDAY

▪ The Pine Bluff City Council will meet in regular session in the City Council Chamber at 200 E. 8th Ave. beginning at 5:30 p.m. Included on the agenda: an ordinance waiving competitiv­e selection and authorizin­g an agreement with Woods Group Architects, Inc., for profession­al services concerning Townsend Park Pavilion; a resolution declaring certain houses, buildings, and/or structures as nuisances and ordering their abatement; and a resolution certifying local government endorsemen­t of business to participat­e in the Tax Back Program (as authorized by Section 15-4-2706(d) of the Consolidat­ed Incentive Act of 2003).

SATURDAY

▪ The 26th annual Mardi Gras Celebratio­n is scheduled for Feb. 22 at St. Peter Catholic Church in the St. Peter Family Life Center at 207 E. 16th Ave., in Pine Bluff. Admission is $20 per person. Ticket informatio­n is available from Jeanette Nelson at (870) 536-2192.

▪ The Port City Blues Society presents Sound of Blues, featuring live Delta blues music, a blues discussion, blues jam session, artist meetand-greet, cigar-box guitar making and blues history. The event is open to all ages, and admission is free. Performers include Marcus “Mookie” Cartwright, Carla Robinson and Bluesboy Jag. Sound of Blues will be at the Freedom and Blues Art Exhibit at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Business Support Incubator, 615 S. Main St., in Pine Bluff, from 1-5 p.m. Funded in part by a grant from Synergy Forum.
