SEARCY — Doris Catherine (Montgomery) Parish

was born in Wiseman, Ark., August 31, 1939 and passed away in Dallas, Texas, February 13, 2020. Her husband and two boys were by her side.

Doris graduated from Violet Hill High School in (1957) and moved to Kansas City where she met Bob Parish through a mutual friend. They were married in (1958) and made their home in Kansas City, Kan., where they raised two sons until they decided to move to Searcy, Ark., in (1976). Doris assisted Bob with management of Parish Grocery from (1976) until they sold the store in (1994). She then helped Bob with his five campaigns for local office.

Doris was a dedicated mother to her sons and a loving sister to her six siblings. She loved to sing gospel songs and dance to country music. March madness was a special time for Doris because she loved watching her Arkansas Razorbacks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Nettie (Milligan) Montgomery, two brothers, J.C. Montgomery and Conway Montgomery, and four older sisters, Von McVey, Sibyl Boles, Gynon Tucker and Bernice Dill.

She is survived by her very best friend and husband of 61 years Judge Bob Parish of Searcy, two loving sons Kendall Parish of Rockwall, Texas and Patrick Parish of Dallas. Doris was loved dearly by her two daughters-in-law Holli Parish and Jill Parish. And, she adored her three grand children, Parker, Paige and River.

She leaves to mourn her passing many nieces, nephews, sisters-inlaw, and friends.

Visitation is Monday February 17, 2020 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at West Race Baptist Church in Searcy. Funeral Service will begin immediatel­y after visitation at 1 p.m. Interment will be at South Crossroads Cemetery in Hopewell.
