Pet of the week

-

Poppy is our pet of the week. Poppy is her name and having fun is her game. Running, romping, tugging on toys, she wants to do it all. She’s a 70-pound, about 2-yearold pitbull/boxer who is looking for a home where her owner will be patient with her puppy energy and goofiness. She does very well in a crate and is house trained. She is affectionate and will snag your food if you aren’t watching. Poppy loves to play with other dogs. She will chase cats, but won’t hurt them. She’s pretty good on a leash and is as loyal as they come. She tested as heartworm positive when she was rescued, but finished her last treatment at the beginning of November. She is ready to go on car rides, trot up and down the river trails or lay low. She just wants to be by her owner’s side.

Featured Felines

Sura, named for my bright green eyes, is a loving and playful little cat that is about 1 year old. She is a talker. If she’s hungry, she will let you know; if she wants to be petted, she will let you know. She lives with another cat that isn’t really interested in being Sura’s friend. She would do well with another cat in the home or even a dog because she really likes to play. She is a bit cautious, so a home without small children or a lot of children would probably be best for her. She will make someone a really lovely companion.

Poppy and friends can be adopted through Rock City Rescue. More information is available by emailing rockcityrescue@gmail.com with your phone number for a call or request an adoption application and or rockcityrescue.org.
