ZAKI GHANEM KASSEES

of Sherwood passed away at the age of 68 on Monday, March 2, 2020, in his home surrounded by family.

Zaki was born in Ramallah, Palestine, on December 30, 1951.

He moved to the United States in his early teens and owned a successful business for over 20 years. On April 29, 1979 he married the absolute love of his life Enam A. Kassees and together they raised four beautiful daughters.

He was a hardworkin­g, dedicated family man with a contagious smile that touched and warmed the hearts of everyone in his presence. He had an admirable strength for life seen by his family, friends, and medical team, especially after suffering a massive stroke 13 years ago. He loved being outdoors, grilling, working on his yard, and taking day trips to the horse races. He loved Arabian music and was always the life of the party.

Zaki was preceded in death by his parents, Ghanem and Nali Kassees; brother, Mazen Kassees; sister, Samia Kassees; nephew, Ganem Kassees; and nephew, Essa Akel. Zaki is survived by his wife, Enam Kassees; four children, Amal Saba, Manal Arman, Jawan Kassees, and Ranya Kassees; his grandchild­ren, Joshua Saba, Naylah Saba, and Brody Arman; his brothers and their spouses, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 6–8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Annunciati­on Greek Orthodox Church, 1100 Napa Valley Dr., Little Rock.
