Rev. MICHAEL WASHINGTON,

64, of Little Rock, transition­ed to his heavenly home on March 2, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born August 29, 1955 in Little Rock, Ark. Rev. Washington was a 1973 graduate of Central High School, and later received a Bachelor of Science in Leadership and Ministry from Central Baptist College, Conway, Ark. in 2010.

He was a lifelong member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and served as a Pastor and Presiding Elder for over 40 years. He pastored eleven congregati­ons throughout the state of Arkansas. His love for people translated into his profession­al career as a MEMS paramedic, where he helped many in emergency situations for over 30 years, retiring in 2015 and later returning to serve as their Chaplain. He also served as a volunteer auxiliary deputy sheriff and Chaplain for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Anneice McCrary, his brother, Richard Washington. Loving memories are left to his wife of 30 years: Shelia Washington, son: Michael (Raven) Washington II; grandchild­ren: MaKayla, Michael Ray, and Mallorie Washington. Siblings: Larry Burnett, Rita Lancaster, and Mary Dean Martin.

Family Hour: Monday, 5:307:30 p.m. and Service: Tuesday, 11 a.m. both at Bethel AME Church, 815 W. 16th St., LR, Ark. Rev Truman Tolefree, officiatin­g. The Right Rev. Michael Mitchell, Eulogist.
